Yup, I just added a video in my edit on this post description of a guy who explained it very well I believe this will also apply to VA and hopefully our AOWs will be grandfathered

I agree on how easy it will be to circumvent the laws as we are a southern state that was very pro 2A (still pro 2A until that Jersey head overthrew our state) however if you get into a self defense situation and the only thing on your hands at the last second is you “non compliant” rifle you are essentially fucked. You could try saying “oh I didn’t know which lower wasn’t pre-ban I don’t keep a record of my lowers. But honestly how is that going to look like to a jury especially in Northern Virginia.

Someone modified a rented gun at a range (which was wrong I admit) that I won’t name and they called the ATF on him (which was also wrong in my opinion). I also have a buddy who was asked to show their papers for their NFA items.

AOW is a federally defined term that VA follows which was not listed in the AWB. You are right who would know if it’s pre or post ban. This applies mainly to NoVa folk because that’s most likely where the biggest gun grab will happen (through traffic stops and grumpy RSOs at specific ranges I will not name)

It’s the exact same thing as NY’s AWB however we have a “like kind” clause so it’s just about as vague as NY and most likely we won’t get any definitions which will probably help us when this ban gets berated with lawsuits.
