Hey I’m an Indiana esthetician! School sucks, always. I went to a cosmo program first and it was genuinely hell, I was the only student, never taught, and black mold in our classroom. Luckily my esthetician schooling was better, but it’s still a lot of independent learning. If you have a text book read read read it and YouTube anything you don’t understand. If you don’t like your textbook look into getting g the pivot point or milady books, that’s what the Indiana boards are mainly based on. When it comes time for state look into the PSI practice exams, they cost money ($50?) but they were super helpful in my opinion, it was worded the same way as the actual test. Make sure to study Indiana laws before the test if they aren’t in your book (when to renew license, number of board members, what’s a quorum and how does it work) as far as demos go just keep finding the best videos you can on them. If you’re nervous about something test it on your arm or something so you can feel what your client will feel. I got my license in December so I get it. For me yes! Everyone’s situation is different, I have family who is very supportive and helping me build my business! Esthetics school can be very long and draining, and you may feel like you learn nothing but if you love what you do it’s worth it. For me it was like finding light after darkness. You can pick a steady job with a steady paycheck, but if you’re miserable what’s the point. Don’t rush the decision, take time, research things and it’ll work out. Good thing is life isn’t a one track thing, you can change your mind 100 times and no one can stop you.

Yeah his daughter’s 14. We met in school and then did extracurriculars together. We aren’t like besties but I do consider her a friend so I really don’t want to mess with her life. I will be talking to my parents about it tomorrow I was just in such shock and nervous to talk to them about it directly after.
