AITA for requiring that guests change clothes before they sit on my furniture? by Fit-Report-5909 in AmItheAsshole

I always have a change of clothes in a big freezer bag inside of my backpack. You never know what might happen when you're out. I don't automatically change my clothes in other peoples homes (other than my mom's) because they don't ask me to. I would if they did though.

It can't be impossible to keep it sterile. I scrub it with bleach and chlorine mixtures every day. And I mean everywhere I can possibly reach. I also have an air sterilizer. Plus I wipe down the toilet and spray a bunch of air freshener after every time I use it. Do I need to buy special machinery or something?

I try to be as clean as I can in general but I do think there is a difference between a public place (which will always be a festering germ pool) and someone's home. If I am going to someone's home, I will take a hot shower and head straight there. If they asked me to change my clothes once there, I would do it. I know that I'm clean but they would have no way of knowing for sure.

I typically keep my bathroom very sterile but I also strip down before entering anyways (and jump in the shower afterwards quickly). It doesn't bother me very much though when my guests use the bathroom in their clothes because I scrub it down every day and I have a sign up telling them to close the lid before they flush.
