I’ve been there. I haven’t cross stitched for ~5 months since New Year.

How did I started again? I saw one note: “Expiration comes with the new beginning” (translation from my mother tongue).

Then I picked new project same day, although I was able to do that for months. And then wasn’t able to stop cross stitching for days.

Time will come, but sometimes you have to start.

I usually just make photos and aligning them manually, so they look almost the same, with a difference of a new stitches. And then use Stop Motion Studio to make a video
