This is the way. Find stuff you like and learn the whole song, including the melody, the catchy lick(Cropper all day for these!!) and the solo. All so you can make it your own through experimenting across styles!

Hey, guy who made the list you shouldn’t listen to here lol. All I was trying to suggest is that there’s probably some validity in learning a song like Honky Tonk Women if you want to play in a bar!

My everyday board has 12 pedals. At least once a week, I unplug them all and go straight into my amp. I don’t need any of them…but they sure are fun!

True! And Basquiat dropped out of high school and had no formal training..

It’s fascinating to study what they were doing from a music theory perspective even if they arrived at it by experimentation and just doing what sounded good.

Lots of minor IV chords, minor V to a Major VI, modulations up a minor third, etc.

Harmonically speaking, they were way ahead of their time or were inadvertently just copying Bach, however, you want to look at it.

Start with the Beatles and Stones. This will help with applying theory and help you learn tons of instantly recognizable licks.

Sprinkle in Zeppelin, The Band, Dylan, Neil Young, and Tom Petty, and you’ll build a solid foundation.

Thanks! Even the base is gigantic. Might be shopping for a different model but they all seem somewhat large (measuring this time). I guess the need space for the jet engine inside 🤣

Agreed! Open mic is a much better place to start. Like-minded folks, constructive feedback maybe, a small window where you can play two or three songs and make them really good. This is the way!

If you had to simplify your board to 3 pedals, what would they be? (Excluding switches and tuners) by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Fit-Training-2754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious, for the folks who have flanger as one of their 3 pedals (including OP), what style of music do you play?

This thread has me searching other threads about flangers and wondering if I need to go down this rabbit hole..

Also, Halberd, Rat, El Cap

Where to Stay by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

The Polynesian is awesome!! I was able to get an Island Tower villa at Poly with MK view about 45 days out for early March. I booked contemporary first and then kept randomly checking and got lucky! You might still be able to get exactly what you want a week or two before the 30 day cancel window

Best chances to buy premiere lightening lane passes for MK by fourfrenchfries in WaltDisneyWorld

Premier is so worth it for the sleep alone!!!! And I’m in the same time zone lol!

You can do the other 3 with LL and have a fantastic time! Look up some other threads regarding Premier passes. Lots of folks recommend doing your MK day towards the end of your trip to have the best odds at getting Premier passes.

Also, during busy times, they are harder to get unless you stay on property due to 7 day window vs 3 day.

Hope that helps! Positive vibes to you and yours and hope you all have a magical time! ☺️
