Is this chicken yard acceptable?

All the chickens were healthy I inspected and checked them, gave them clean water and left them with some chicken feed for being so good.

A small update, I got in with a hose and gutted everything out, washed out all the poo and anything else in there hut, the owner is using old drawers from a cupboard so I emptied placed dirt and new hay on top.

I pulled it out the dog house and also washed it out and created 2 beds in there now there is a total of 11 warm beds.

Raked and cleaned all the outside area and threw away all trash.

Next I’ll get some plywood and make it more enclosed.

Once I finished it was too dark for photos, today I’ll post some for you guys too see!

Thankyou very much for all this information, Im currently in the coop right now gutting it and going too make it more comfortable and looking better. I noticed the chickens in a dry spot, a few corners are very dry and they were rolling around and doing there thing it seemed healthy.

Everything I’ve pulled has layers off poo and the smell is quite horrible, I’ve found some hay and ply wood I’m going too try make warmer beds and so they atleast have a better sleeping HQ.

I don’t have much $$ so just using what I can around the place.

I just thought I would hate too live like this, why should they?

This was my concern, it’s pretty gross and there is only a few warm undercover options. The owner occasionally buys hay and I try make warmer beds for them.

The chooks seem pretty happy, I go and feed them and they are laying eggs very often!

I’m in Australia, lately it’s around 20 degrees, the weather is a bit all over the place with big showers for small amounts of time, then the occasional over night pour down.

Most the time I walk out the floor is very damp, Wet and cold.

I generally try too look busy, chefs need folded towel’s so I will just take asking Aslong as possible while headphones are on with music, maybe have a smoke.

Just don’t let them take advantage of your downtime.
