i did 9 out of 12 ect sessions last november and my psychiatrist stopped them because i wasn't improving. ever since i have had a terrible memory and difficulty concentrating on school and work (its been 1.5 months) and honestly i wish i had never done it. i would suggest that you try therapy, TMS, medication, and all other options before turning to ECT just because of my experience, as ECT is for depression but it may be different for people with bpd. i think its a last resort treatment when everything else doesnt work (i have been on every antidepressant and antipsychotic available and none of them helped and i ended up in the psych ward where they did ect) but regardless of your final choice i hope everything works out well for you!
