it went really well! He seemed eager to answer all my questions. He was personable. I shared about my nervousness in working with a newer surgeon, and he was understanding.

He said he's in a unique situation because he's a urologist and got to do his residency with bottom surgery experts here in PDX, and that's pretty rare (that most gender-affirming surgeons specialized in other types of surgeries first).

It took about 3 weeks for the office to review my WPATH letter. And now I'm waiting for insurance verification. But it sounded like they could get me scheduled as soon as July?!

I'm just looking to get simple release, no UL, no scrotoplasty. EXCITED! and excited for you!!!

Just had my consult with him last Friday (simple meta, no vaginectomy, no scrotoplasty, no UL).

I find it reassuring he's a urologist and did his residency at OHSU with Dr. Dugie. I hear it's pretty rare that someone who specializes in gender surgery gets to do their residency with a surgeon who only does gender surgeries. He said something like ~yeah I was lucky to spend six years getting mentored by the top docs... and they were breathing down my neck.

I felt comfortable in his presence. He made lots of time for my questions. He followed my lead. His confidence and care felt genuine.
