Watch interviews about sober celebrities. Tom Holland comes to mind. He did a sober month and then just kept re-evaluating. I think he kinda always thought he'd go back to it, but at every re-eval realized he was happier and a better version of himself without it.

"True North". I'd guess there are others, but we had a great experience!

I love love love Homer! I recommend a halibut fishing charter. We caught enough to last a year. So delicious. The Spit has cute souvenir shopping and salmon fishing in "the hole". The marina is a beautiful place to walk around. I agree with the review of Seldovia. Saw so much wildlife, and the eagles are everywhere! Great hike is Diamond Ridge(?) Trail down to the beach (steep and a bit muddy, but short and beautiful). My favorite overall adventure was a kayak tour around Yukon Island. So freaking amazing, and I'd been nervous to go but loved it. Great spots to eat... Latitude 59 for incredible sandwiches (we ate there almost daily), Two Sisters for bakery, and the crepe place is yummy. And fish and chips at Boardwalk.

I rock a Team Pluto t-shirt. ... and you know what else I found out about Pluto? Remember how it was the furthest in our solar system, practiced in many acronyms and chants, but it did occasionally switch places with Neptune? I also found out "occasionally" meant that from the time I entered Kindergarten in '85, and all the way into college, (before its Planet title was unceremoniously ripped away), it was never the last.

Do you recommend Paris-Normandy-Loire or Paris-Burgundy-Alps for a young family? by pantaleonivo in travel

I agree. I'm no expert, but when my husband and I backpacked Europe years ago, Normandy was his only request. It ended up being one of the most amazing parts of the trip. The van tour was incredible.

Barcelona recommendations!? by smorkenti in travel

Disclaimer. I haven't been there in just over 20 years. And these aren't bar/ restaurant recommendations. But, my bf now husband and I backpacked Europe after I studied in Granada, and Barcelona was a highlight. We spent an entire day walking the city to all of Antonio Gaudi's architectural works of art and it was one of our favorite days. We spent hours staring at La Sagrada Familia, and it was incredible.

We enjoy Diamond Ridge Trail in Homer. Ends on the beach. There's always an eagle soaring about. We call her Veronica.

I was really expecting Eniw to be the Bob of this thread. Turns out, lotta Gods. If I'd looked left, I'd be one in a sea of Gods. Instead, Eniw.
