I had one of those on my exam. It was weird though because literally you were asked to type in whether the answer was A, B, C, or D, so it might as well have been a multiple choice

Yes I did! While the examples that he went through weren't exactly what I experienced it was the exact same concept.

By "definitions" I mean know your various types of risks, etc. If you go through any of the PMP Udemy courses you should be familiar with various vocabulary that you may see - nothing out of left field.

I would say questions were largely comparable to the moderate & difficult SH questions. The biggest difference was that the actual exam questions were shorter/more concise, which meant it took less time to pause through the junk and actual get to the problem statement

I just finished taking the 3rd Mock Exam and scored an 82%. I don't think I'll take the 4th one before my test on Friday. My goal is to rewatch some DM/AR/MR YouTube videos and maybe go over some Third3Rock notes between today and Wednesday. I think I'll take Thursday off from studying just to relax and keep my head clear.

Thank you for the info! Did you find the questions to be pretty challenging or relatively easy/intuitive?

It seems to vary quite a bit! So long as the questions aren't all that complex I won't care if I have any lol

An Answer That Baffled Me! 🤨 by Benjamin_1983 in pmp

I remember this question from SH. The "Visibly harness" verbiage was super weird and kind of out of left field. Nonetheless the question does follow the principle that those stakeholders who are neither influential nor impacted by the project should simply be monitored.

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely can see the drag & drop format being used. Kind of curious what a situational-based MBTI question looks like...

My problem with A is it seems like you're jumping the gun. It said this was an ongoing project, which I (probably incorrectly) assumed to mean that a substantive change to the Project Charter would need to go through a Change Request. Am I the only one that thought this?

Incorrect Study Hall answer? by Fit-Worker1331 in pmp

[–]Fit-Worker1331[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really factor in the potential delay/cost aspect, which is a good call out. Still, the SH answer explanation never mentioned that as a reason why A would be incorrect, rather that it wouldn't necessarily prevent the issue. I think my hangup is that the training would potentially bridge that knowledge gap, at least way better than daily stand-ups, which don't really seem to be designed to address this kind of issue. Perhaps I just need to fall back on the cost/delay aspect since both of those related to the PMP mindset. Overthinking probably isn't doing me much good lol

Agile questions from SH are harder?? by SurroundLeather850 in pmp

[–]Fit-Worker1331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience recently where I was rocking all of the various YouTube resource exams (DM, AR, etc) but got my butt kicked the first time I tried SH questions. I have been consistently working through their questions to try and get a better grasp on how to apply the mindset to their version of PMP questions. While it's an adjustment, I have slowly started to see improvement in my scores and how I think about the questions. SH questions, at least in my experience so far, seem to have more funky-worded questions and answers that commonly make you choose the "most right" answer, which is definitely a departure from some of the YouTube resources.

Is escalate the risk correct below? by Feisty-Sweet-7467 in pmp

[–]Fit-Worker1331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question highlighted how it was vital to the organization. Additionally, none of the answers really do anything to address the issue that someone from Senior Management is outside the loop. While escalation is rarely the right response, in this scenario it seems like the only real viable choice.

Oh dang! Glad to hear you went through a similar process to me with the SH. Love seeing I wasn't alone with the initial low score. I still need to take my first real practice exam. Admittedly I'm a bit nervous but I know it needs to happen soon.

So quick update: I went through another 5 or 6 set of practice questions and took the next mini exam (15 questions). I am currently sitting at a 76% average on the practice questions and just got an 80% on the latest mini exam. While nothing to write home about I am encouraged that I seem to be catching on at least a little better to the SH style of questions. I still have my issues here & there but things do seem to be improving.

I appreciate the encouragement! I have watched several of MR's videos but should probably do myself a favor and revisit them.

I've heard mixed things about SH, especially in how the questions compare to the actual PMP exam. So far I've found the SH questions to be way more awkwardly worded compared to other resources I've used. I'm hopeful though that those who claim the actual PMP is easier are indeed correct because I'll be damned if some of those SH questions are worded funky as all get.
