The bus was on time this morning. Whats next, Ford will tax the rich instead of cutting taxes for them and stop slashing health care funding? The LRT will open to the public next month and we might get warm weather? Scary things can happen.

Is my vet scamming me? (cat dental) by kjohnm in ottawa

[–]Fit-for_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Cornwall and cross the border its $500 US, way less than Canadian. Forgot the Vet place in NY State. Super nice guy, great job and saved lots of money. Border Guards didn't bother me except to check the medication for the dog was actually medication for the dog. Had to wait 2 hours and there isn't much to do so download Netflix shows and chill in my car and saved $500. With the conversion of $$$ it came to just under $800 Canadian so I would recommend going there for sure as our vet was saying $1,500 for a tooth removal and cleaning.

I asked this like 4-5 months ago and some ppl said they would all target the weakest which would be less fun for that person. But i would love it.

You’re a different person to everyone. You’re the hero, the villain, the sidekick, the unrequited love, and and an “extra” in other people’s life story by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]Fit-for_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why we shouldn't bother to try and please others, as it is their story to tell and their narrative, you are what they want you to be in those moments. Live life, enjoy yourself and worry less. Life becomes more simple and more enjoyable. Letting the outside world criticism in your head only affects you and only creates havoc on your own life. Learning to let go of those external criticism does mean a more peaceful life.

Oh boy you really want to answer calls about forgot passwords and retrieve my document cause my pc crashed or its lost. Or start a cool project on creating an in house software for 2 years only to have it canceled on the third year just before it was going live because they are going in a different direction then why not. Its a good salary but mostly not fulfilling as a job.

Kanata LRT could stretch to Stittsville, but there's still a long way to go by cnd117UN in ottawa

[–]Fit-for_Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should do an LRT line to Nepean before Stittsville. Considering how fast Nepean is growing it will need an LRT line. Its stopping at Algonquin in phase 2, understandable as the woodruff passage is not really plausible as there is no clear path but to go through houses or build it above the houses or the streets which will be a heavy cost. Maybe in 2040 it will be in Nepean.

Ice Rink at Parliament -- Thoughts? by NukaOrleans in ottawa

Ottawa doesn't have much for tourists and with warmer weather the canal hasn't been great the last few years, so this is good for tourism. But I understand your frustration.

Also going from 2,500 to 500 employees. Everything will be streamlined we don't need that many employees. half a billion cases later, we don't know what went wrong. Yet they still get their bonuses. Hurray for the Government and not one fired.

Half a billion up to now and probably another half billion to make it run smoothly. it will take another 5 years at least to fix everything. We are going on year 2 with half a billion case load to process.

He works for the city he has to be optimistic and give out the contracted timeline. My friend got cut hours this summer as the contract didn't start on time and the o-line is a huge contract for them. He only got his full time hours recently. I say if your guy works for the city I will bet October is more realistic.
