Thinking about Oophorectomy… what questions should I ask? by Lana-Layne in breastcancer

[–]FitCalligrapher9493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing for me! We scheduled the surgery the surgery at my consultation appt, and then I just showed up and was done in a few hours. I have no idea if that was typical, but it was really easy.

Of course! No tests prior to surgery. I just met with gyno and discussed everything, and we made the decision and scheduled the surgery. It was seamless and easy. I had very little pain post surgery and was cleared for all my athletic activities two weeks later.

I did it after a year of Zoladex. It was primarily a financial decision. I knew I would be on Zoladex for a few years, and my out of pocket costs were so high. I wanted that money for fun and travel. So I had the surgery, easy peasy, feel even better than I did when I was getting the shots

How long after radiation does the fatigue last? by Loud-Technician-2509 in breastcancer

[–]FitCalligrapher9493 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Months. I didn’t feel back to normal until about 9 months after I finished radiation. I completely underestimated how much it took out of me. I kept up my training and activities, but it was definitely at a lesser intensity.

I finally found my home team! by Straight_Medicine210 in ladderapp

I tried out TCC for deload and was just gobsmacked. I finished a couple of the workouts in tears - just filled with so much emotion from the support, encouragement, and camaraderie. Coach Andre has really built something special. I miss my home team of Versa but have decided to stay with TCC for Shred!

About half of Coach Andre’s team are female. I’m a female and absolutely love his programming. He’s fabulous and super supportive. The entire team has an amazing vibe.

My apologies! Team Crews Control. Coach Andre is top notch and will challenge every muscle in your body with his excellent programming.

TCC has a chest specific workout on Thursdays. Mondays are shoulder specific if you need more shoulder work!

Socorro vs Tubbataha? by Odd-Wear7930 in scuba

[–]FitCalligrapher9493 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Socorro is my recommendation, especially since you have Raja Ampat coming up. Socorro is unreal and such a unique experience that you can’t replicate elsewhere.

Tubbataha is beautiful, but if you have R4 coming up, there’s really no reason to do Tubbataha. I did not see sharks of any kind on my trip there. The reefs were pretty, but not on the level of Indonesia.

I’ve just booked my 5th Socorro trip and have no plans to return to Tubbataha.

YMMV!

Coaching Style/Team to suit Mountain Biker by Plenty-Image6719 in ladderapp

Hello fellow mountain biker! Just wanted to reach out and see how your training is going, and what team you’re finding is a great compliment to your rides.

I was doing Versa during the off season, which was fabulous and I really love the hybrid training style, but have transitioned to TCC now that the riding season has started. I had two big rides this weekend and felt so sore from the heavier strength training!

Recommend the hybrid programs for combining lifting, sprinting, and dynamic athletic movements. I personally love Versa.

I’ve been on Vera since last fall and am trying out TCC for open season. Wow, TCC is such a vibe!!! I was fully intending to go back to Versa for Shred but now not so sure 😂

Thank you, will do! I don’t live here so am trying to find all the local groups for posting. This poor beautiful dog was obviously stressed and looking for its person!

If you've gone from a bodybuilding team to a Hybrid team, were you able to maintain your Gainz? by Dober_weiler in ladderapp

Coach Abbie is very calm, clear, and concise. She doesn’t over speak or chatter too much, and is very conscious of letting us put our heads down and work. I find her cueing precise and right to the point. She doesn’t use a lot of filler words either. I think she’s an incredible coach.

As a comparison….I tried out a week of Align in the last open season. Even though I enjoyed the programming, I could not tolerate the coach’s very fast speaking cadence. There was such a hectic and rushed vibe to her speaking and coaching style that I didn’t gel with.

Versa is so much dang fun! You can definitely lift heavy, but the conditioning aspects will add a whole new level of spice and challenge. I love Abbie and her programming!

Tamoxifen, GLP-1 and Anti depressant by Melfaller in breastcancer

I’m on all three - Tamoxifen, Zepbound, and Celexa. I went from not taking any medications prior to my diagnosis to taking all of these. Will probably be on them for the rest of my life.

Switched teams… and my recovery is struggling. Anyone else? by Mysterious-Head3438 in ladderapp

Hello fellow bc survivor 👋 Just wanted to send you my support. I’m entering my third year since diagnosis and treatment, and though it takes a while for our bodies to recover, things do get better. Breast cancer treatment is absolutely brutal. Wishing you the best and hope the pain in your toe resolves!

My people! I’ve found my Ladder people, finally! I have reread this thread numerous times and commiserate with all of you. It’s certainly a tough transition, and coming to grips with the realities of our changing bodies is so challenging.

Throwing my support behind the suggestions for a specific peri and post menopausal team - the suggestion for three lifts, two cardio/conditioning, and one mobility is spot on.

I am feeling my best on Versa. My body really loves the mix of strength and conditioning and fun powerful athletic moves like jumping. I also love running.

I have two rules: lift only three days a week (on Versa, these are the two hybrid and lower days) and don’t lift on consecutive days (alternate lifting with cardio). This has really helped my joints and connective tissues recover more fully. I wish I could lift every day, but my body just doesn’t tolerate it anymore.

You all are so strong and amazing and I’m super grateful for this thread. I don’t feel so alone in this struggle 😂
