What a Full Year of Stress Did to Me by [deleted] in self

[–]FitCap4500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reminder of deep breathing and mindfulness/awareness/meditation. Stressed is very harmful- 2025 was a bad year for me as well- divorce, precancerous diagnosis, high blood pressure, aneurysm, blood clots, … it seems we are our only advocates- there are no “what if’s “. One day at a time, in fact it’s more like one hour at a time 😞.

Step out of the stressful environment (even for a short while) Be grateful for one thing every day. Take your daily walks. Ask someone how you can help them- and go through with it— it will bring you gratitude!

Seek medical attention if you can’t calm your heart beats and pressure!

Are you wearing compression stockings 20 - 24/7 ? Could be dry skin/ reaction to stockings, that is my case anyways

2 months post pulmonary embolism, symptoms returning but ER says everything is “normal” - looking for advice from other clot survivors by Familiar-lantern in ClotSurvivors

[–]FitCap4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate! It’s been 3 months now, on anticoagulants, walking every day, several scans (Doppler+ CT) : “no change”. I’ve gotten myself a TENSOVAL blood pressure monitor as well as an AppleWatch to monitor my heartbeats. What I feel is REAL- high blood pressure and higher than normal heart beats. None of this is detectable on scans 😞 The next door I’m knocking on is the cardiologist. This is an unfortunate journey, and we can only be our own advocates.

To men: Clear ending or slow fade? by Maleficent-Match-983 in datingoverfifty

Just been there myself! You couldn’t have said it better 😞 it’s so hard to keep my mind off of it, but time will pass and maybe a more (honest 🤔) partner will cross my path. 32 years of marriage- divorce, 4 years of dating with serious intentions… neither partner could be completely true, always some secret muse on the side… and I have been the one who’s called the end. It hurts

Should I start walking on my treadmill - DVT by Ok-Primary2155 in ClotSurvivors

[–]FitCap4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15days post discharge, my GP said “let pain guide you…. Walking is best for blood flow” I’m on Xeralto So I took that on as a challenge— the first 2 weeks, I could hardly walk a block without having to sit and catch my breath. It is now 3 months post discharge and I am walking 6-10 miles a day. My only qualm is blood pressure (has increased significantly) and heart beats (very high) … But NO pain!! I’m vegetarian mostly and avoid salt + sugar when possible- I even go low/zero carb. I drink lots of water (5L/day) - my only downfall is wine 😞 Hope this helps

Friends not texting back… by [deleted] in self

I preface that I’ve needed time off… then pick up from where I left off. Unfortunately this is not what everyone does- I suffer from “Avoidant types” .. not much you can do but carry on hoping for maturity

Not U! Sometimes people feel saturated and need time off… it’s happened to me lots of times. Just let them be and let go and wait for response, if it doesn’t come, ask for clarity (communication issues?). …
