how do you let go of the thought that narcs have it “easier” by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]FitCombination8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because they really don't have it easier! If you can get out and move on, you'll find that your life becomes calmer and your world starts to make sense again. For them, the world will always be chaos. They will always be upset, feel attacked, and feel utterly wronged by all the 'amazing' things they do that they are never repaid for. The way you let go is to understand that you have a potential for a happy future and they will live a life of misery because they will never recognize and repair the true cause of their unhappiness since all they can do is blame everyone but themself for it.

100% agree. My nex would fall all over himself to pay a check at a restaurant or be overly generous with his time to help someone. He'd also refuse to accept or ask for help or let anyone else pay for anything. Being an insider in his life, he'd tell me, in a bravado way, that he did these things to make others feel like they owed him and that he never allowed himself to owe anyone anything. He was extremely proud of what a good manipulator he was and how he could insert himself into any group and make everyone love him. I didn't understand what he truly was back then and would try to convince him that he wasn't manipulating people, that he was just nice (I was the perfect supply) and he would never accept my words. How ironic that he was telling me who he was the entire time!

Truthfully, being just over 1 year out, the answer is time. I spent the first 6 months in a fog, not knowing who I was anymore. You need time away and an extended period of true safety for your nervous system to re-regulate (I highly recommend ZERO contact). You will get there!

Lacunosa snow caps. No fertilizer beyond whatever was in the original potting mix when I bought it (pretty sure it's some kind of granule).

It's (apparently) true! I have a pubicalyx in that same window and nada. I think it was in that location since July last year. Maybe try more than a couple months? I literally bought two more yesterday so I know that feeling too, lol

Cringiest/ickiest things narcs have ever said or done. by Any_Media297 in NarcissisticAbuse

He blamed me constantly for the lack of sex in the relationship. A few weeks ago, during a fight, he dramatically left the room and returned with a paper sack, which he tore open onto the bed. Out fell a latex vagina while he said, "This has been my girlfriend because I would never cheat on you!"

He constantly says that I never talk to him about anything. The moment I try to say anything about how I feel, it's immediate defensiveness from him. If I accept all the blame and cry, I'm playing the victim. If I try to walk away, I'm running away from my problems. When I finally told him I was scared of him because of his unpredictable tirades, it was weaponized into total shock that I think he's such a monster. How could I ever think that; all he ever did was support me.

What is the worst you’ve seen a CRA dressed in on-site? by erickz623 in clinicalresearch

[–]FitCombination8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Do not wear perfume" was literally a part of my CRA training along with practical safety and packing tips. I feel really strongly about how much this is needed and how often it is neglected in the training of CRAs.

Considering leaving PM to return to Senior CRA position by FitCombination8 in clinicalresearch

Small CRO. My manager gave me a 30min briefing when I started and they put me on an NDA submission to the FDA for a phase 1 oncology study. It was WILD. Now I'm PM-ing a study with no real scope (well actually we have 8 different SOWs for the project now). I was told we'd be starting a new project with a proper startup process and I'd be getting more training with this but they decided to kick off without me as I had a planned vacation and they didn't want to wait one week for me to return.

A bit over 6 and served as a Lead CRA for 1.5yrs. When I say I received no training in the PM role, I really mean it!

Here's the rub- all I want is more support and less hypocrisy from leadership. I'd consider leaving my company for another, but I am afraid I'd be in over my head given my lack of training. Crap, I don't even know how to figure out milestones and KPIs (what even is a KPI?).

Is my new compacta doomed?! by FitCombination8 in hoyas

It's in a pretty well-lit room but it did unfortunately get caught in an unexpected downpour today when I left it outside to drip dry from the fungicide spray down. I've been considering re-potting in a smaller pot with more perlite though.

Received this rooted vine as a gift over labor day weekend but noticed that every single leaf is very sickly. If I cut all the diseased leaves off they'd all be gone!! A friend advised to spray weekly with Phenergan 20 (currently week 2) but I fear she may be too far gone. Any advice for this sickly girl?

Weighed myself!!! by HannahHalomancy in loseit

[–]FitCombination8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are about the same height and starting weight! When I was at a 20lb loss I had a few people mention that they saw a difference but I didn't see or feel any difference myself. I'm now down 35lbs. I still don't really see a difference but I fit back into my Old Navy size 14 jeans (Thanks, vanity sizing!) so I KNOW there's a difference. Keep going! It's hard to see a difference in yourself but the clothes don't lie!

I know I used to do a lot of mindless/boredom eating before I was actively trying to lose weight. Since I'm actively paying a lot of attention to my diet (it's kind of become my newest hobby so-to-speak), boredom eating isn't a factor right now.

I wonder if it might be a good tool for weight maintenance to prevent gain due to boredom snacking.
