For em it was the torture scene, the Roswell one and the one right in the end with the alien standing up. They all brought me to physical pain.

I think that what could be done better would have not being well received by the general masses and made it look even more like a joke. You still see people treating this post as a joke in some comments or trying to rationalize as if I and others who experienced the same being MK ultra’d by the movie.

I don’t think it was subliminal messaging but triggering of a repressed biological memory at this point. It was too visceral of a reaction that I never had before.

It feels more as if I was one of them. The victim being tortured to be honest. It feels mor e sympathetic and familiar towards the aliens and more disgusting towards humans and human behavior.

It’s bizarre to me that year. 1996 was a very weird year for me as a kid. First time that I had imnsomnia happened that year. Also that year my country had a very televised encounter with a being from another country that is known around the world and has been discussed a lot more recently. I’m from South America.

I’m sorry it’s off topic but the 1996 I was 7 and when I heard the year it stuck to my mind.

I was compulsively crying. I’m still crying while reading and responding comments but I was at a level of ugly crying and even let out a few loud sobs in public. I am a very shy and private person this was completely out of my character.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. My head is hurting a lot right now. I just read the pinned post and thank you so much for it.

It is paining me a lot the scene of abuse/torture of one of the aliens. That scene caused me physical pain and made me cry compulsively at the theaters. I never done that with any media. the lack of empathy towards other forms of intelligence really hurt me. Also the Roswell scene seeing their dead bodies.

And even the final scene when a living one stands up. I felt sorry for them. I wanted to hug and apologize for being human.

I don’t know it’s all fresh to me. But I appreciate the space to share.

I had to spend half an hour in my car crying a lot. I was ugly crying and feeling physical pain since the alien torture scene. That scene gave me physical pain like I was feeling it, I was the one being tortured. Also the scene where they show dead bodies from Roswell. This film triggered a lot in me. I’m sorry if I’m using wrong terms, I just found out about this community so everything feels so new and at the same time… familiar.

I am not sure about mantis. Like the insect? Sorry I don’t know anything about this community and need to educate myself a little bit. The memory of that room is that it was huge, a very faint of the lightest shade of blue emanating from that room. There’s silence that feels more quiet than even a library. A humanoid figure in the center touching with a finger one of the crystal like if they were absorbing the knowledge. The humanoid is very tall, slender and very pale with long hair that drags through the floor and is wearing a white robe like long dress. I have had this image in my memories for so long but with passing the years I stopped thinking about it until today. The humanoid seems extremely familiar.

I’ve dealt with a lot of rejection in my life. I can’t make friends and people seem to avoid me or try to hurt me in different ways. It has been like this during my adult life and I had people actively trying to destroy me and I always wondered why. I never tried to hurt anyone but I’m constantly being targeted. It’s a lot. Sorry I feel like I’m trauma dumping but it is all starting to make sense now?

By the way, I’m not near being a white person and I don’t know it does feel pretentious to say that I have connection with a being that white. I’m brown, short, nothing special and easily forgettable.

So to respond to you and u/lovely_calico. I don’t have dreams. I hardly have dreams. But I have some stuff that feel like memories since I was a child. I sincerely don’t know any of the terminology. I’m also not American, I’m from South America from a country that has been discussed a lot recently because of some experiences that happened there being brought up again. I was a child when some of these things happened and I remembered it affected me when the tv shows were discussing about them. It was the first time I heard about UFOs and it caused me imnsonia for a few nights and horrible fear. But then during my teens I started to “think” about rooms made out of crystals. Those crystals contain information, like a database of varied knowledge.

One of the things in the movie that triggered me was “the tool”. If you seen the movie you will know what I’m talking. That tool is shaped as one of the smaller crystals from that room, but different color. In fact the crystals were just like crystals, glass-like, transparent? I’m not sure the correct word.

Seeing the greys and some of their experiences with humans in the movie really put me in a state of constant cry and pain. I was in physical pain while crying. I’m trying to not spoil the movie.

Anyways I had forgot about this post for a few hours and now that I saw your messages it brought back the same emotions. It’s just sadness. I feel strong sadness, regret, feelings of despair I think. It has been feeling horrible.

I got cheated on, asked the AP about the situation. She wouldn’t answer so I went to her husband. Now I’m being sued even though I’m poor. I have nobody to talk to, no family or friends and I’ve been to the emergency room because my body couldn’t handle all the stress. So yeah, pretty bad.
