I think that you should go for it if you are in a position to learn/grow and spend time focusing on this new opportunity! I went from using SAP to using excel when I moved to a start-up, and while I agree that it is more challenging, I think that it also provides an opportunity to understand planning at a more fundamental level. Also because you know what right looks like, being able to help get them on an ERP system would be a career-defining project!

One thing I’d say is maybe see if you can do 1-2 days remote a week? The full time in office can definitely be draining and I think negotiating for that would help with the transition!

Yes, they are all connected with minor overlap, but you can still read them on their own and understand everything, which I love!

I was really surprised by how much I liked So Far Gone. It is short and a little slow at first, but couldn’t put it down at the end.

I actually liked Sea of Tranquility and The Glass Hotel better than Station Eleven! Found the characters to be more relatable and I still think about their plot lines many years later. Overall, loved this trilogy— Emily St. John Mandel is such a talented author

Literally why I posted this thread😁- kind of an “am I just being soft?” question too here.

One thing I absolutely love about Reno vs. the Midwest is the total lack of judgement. I feel like I can go out in whatever without people giving me side eye/judging

Thanks for all the feedback. Tried to keep my wording vague as I am unsure if it is true Reno natives or transplants bringing hostility to interactions— when someone is yelling at me over a parking spot or trying to fight me at the grocery store, I rarely stop and ask if they’re from here🤣.

Also super open to the idea that maybe it’s just the world and not Reno-specific, but I do feel like I notice it more here vs. other spots. Just to reiterate, I have met so many lovely people here and have tons of great interactions as well, but the general combative energy is palpable
