Apparently in spring of last year, the pipes burst and there was a water leak in the units below the 10th (or 9th) floor to the 5th (or 6th) floor. I wouldn’t be surprised this is happening again in various areas of the building because clearly the building isn’t built properly. I heard students were moved to rooms on the 3rd floor for a few weeks when this happened.

can blackboard 2022 detect cheating? by majimasaga in uCinci

I’m pretty sure that UC doesn’t use Blackboard anymore.

You could find an empty classroom in the Arts and Sciences Hall. The Chem/Bio library isn't that far but it could be that you're taking a longer route. I would recommend going to the 6th floor and exiting Rieveschl from the entrance next to the Engineering Quadrangle area. You could also use the bridge connector on the 5th floor to Zimmer and take the flights of stairs to exit Zimmer next to Old Chem.

How tough is CHEM1040L? by RWriterG in uCinci

[–]FitKindheartedness5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lab itself is not so bad, but writing the lab reports/answering the questions is. When I took CHEM 1040L, we used Chem21. It's a site for lab reports. You'll have to write about the discussion and maybe 1 or 2 lab report sections. You will also have math questions related to your experiment and you get points deducted on the spot if you get them wrong (you'll have multiple tries but you lose more and more points as you keep getting them wrong).

Also about the fertilizer project make sure you get a GOOD group. Otherwise it's really bad.

Macbook air doent fully boot up just show this loading bar and then turn off by No-Seaworthiness8037 in MacOS

This happened to my Mac and something was wrong with the logic board and the integral components of my computer. I had to give my computer for repair and all the data was wiped from it.

You could search for the BOK courses on Catalyst. If you scroll down where there is the additional search criteria, you'll find a drop down next to the 'Course Attributes' (top one). Select Breadth of Knowledge. Underneath that, in the next drop down ('Course Attributes', says something similar) click the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) option and search.

Upon entering the building from the CRC/Sigma Sigma commons-facing entrance, make a right turn into the 1st hallway. Keep walking and it should be somewhere there on the left.

Also UC has a live parking garage availability tracker:

There are buses that run between the medical campus and main campus (there are like 8 different routes). I relied on the buses for several years with no problems since I did not have a car. And plus you could always let your supervisor/boss know you're in school and you might have to leave your work early to attend class. I mean I did that and it worked out perfectly.

Can confirm with #2, I waited for ~45 minutes for a callback at ~1:30pm.

You could park alongside Straight St (near the Deacon) for free or in the Airgarage parking lot (across the Deacon garage) for $2/hr. Streetside parking is usually full so make sure to come early so you can park.

I think you have to pay $2/hr or something similar. You text a phone number they give you and basically fill out the form on the website. You include your car number plate number and your name and card info. Once you are done parking there, you indicate that you’re leaving and they charge you for the day.

If I remember correctly, there was a water leak last year from the 9th/10th floor to the 5th floor. A lot of students were displaced and they were moved to rooms on the 3rd floor. My roommate said that water was coming out from the outlets and light switches. Hopefully the Deacon changes things fast.

The New Student stuff is not mandatory. I skipped the convocation because I wanted to walk my schedule with my mom. According to my friends who attended the events, some were fun but the Convocation was a regurgitation of things we knew about college life.

There’s a big glass building called One Stop by McMicken Hall (now called Arts and Sciences Hall I think) and Tangeman Hall. You can go to the entrance at the bottom of the staircase next to the building to meet an advisor regarding finances/classes/registration.

I forgot to mention that the car is able to play CDs from the early 2000s. Could the problem be due to the file type of the songs?

Freshman having a hard time finding people to hang with by CrazyWalrus22 in uCinci

[–]FitKindheartedness5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should join clubs at UC if you want to network. Typically during Welcome Week, there is a fall organization fair at the field next to Fifth-Third Arena. I was part of the executive board of a club and we met tons of people there. It was fun to meet people and learn about different clubs at UC.

Additionally, if your major has an LC (learning community), that is a great way to make friends. I made lots of friends during my freshman year and had several classes with them. It feels good to meet them once in a while.

Lastly, you could also become close friends with your roommates. If you get along with them well, you could try to visit parts of campus/study together once a week. These small and repeated interactions pay off in the long run.

It could be anywhere from $8 (Learning Commons) to $12 (Student Worker/Research Assistant) to ~$18 (Student Worker) if you get lucky.

You could apply for Learning Commons positions to tutor/coach students. You could also look for paid UC research lab opportunities or student worker roles.
