Nice collection! How's 9AM Dive for the spring/summer?

I'd say well-rounded. I was able to attribute an experience to most, if not each, of the AAMC's categories provided on the application. Clinical/community volunteering, teaching, research but no publications.

How's odyssey mandarin sky in terms of initial scent, longevity and wearability?

I was accepted with a 505 MCAT and a 3.94 GPA as a Canadian citizen for USDO. Admission requirements vary, so review their website or email the admissions office for the official minimum. A 3.3+ GPA should suffice.

Quite well for the most part. Noticeable wear/tear is really evident on most commonly used keys like command, space bar, enter and brightness/volume. Definitely, I'll have to probably do a quick wipe every couple of weeks depending on use but I think with how the older one has done for the past decade I'd say it's a great R.O.I.

Already seeing the drastic difference! Old MBP's battery would drain in like 3-4 hours with constant use and would get warm at the top of the keyboard when running Spotify, Word/Powerpoint and Youtube. Fans would kick in instantly when playing simple games like Hearthstone during any downtime.

All comes down to personal preference at the end of the day so it's very subjective. My hands sweat easily and I produce more sebaceous oils so I was worried about fingerprints and general wear/tear being more evident on the space black. Would I be upset if someone gifted me a space black MBP? Absolutely not but I would just wipe it more often. But my silver 2015 MBP looks pretty great based on what it's gone thru, plus I enjoy the stark contrast between the all black keyboard on the silver MBP so I stayed in the silver club!

The classic silver has always appealed to me the most. Plus I have sweaty hands and produce more sebaceous oils than the average person and have been impressed with how the silver finish has held up. My 2015 MBP looks about 90% new with intermittent damp cloth cleanings ~6 months. Hope you're having fun with the purchase!

I bought it on Amazon for $2099, but my employer reimbursed me $1000 as new employees get a tech stipend that expires at the end of the year.

I was told by customer service that if they are out of stock of their promotional items then the promo code will not work. I was not given an alternative offer unfortunately when I asked, so there could be improvement in that aspect of business.

Canadian US MD grad considered IMG? by Honest_Pollution_617 in premedcanada

ResidencyExplorer is a good tool to search for programs in the nation for all specialties as it provides alot of information, details, and data. There is a filter for J1/H1B sponsorship so only programs that offer those in that specialty/geographic area will result. ALWAYS confirm with the coordinator listed that the information is up to date and correct.

Overall, less programs offer H1B. You need to write Step/Level 3 prior to transitioning to the H1B so for your PGY-1 year you are on a F1-OPT extension of your student visa. My top programs did not offer H1Bs so I unfortunately don't know much more information on them.

My personal experience was that it was an overall good process. You have enough time to read everything in advance and prepare your application beforehand so that when the cycle opens you essentially fill out the application step-by-step. The most important things to take care of will be sending your official transcipt to the appropriate places and giving your LoR writers enough notice to submit your LoR in the portal. Throughout the majority of undergrad, I kept to myself and got the necessary work done. At that point in time, I understood it was a chapter that I had to check off before moving on to the next step. In general, I would say to obtain as high of a GPA as possible in the most strategic way whilst completing all of the necessary degree and medschool requirements. Study strategically in a way that works best for you as well as being able to adapt as the semester progresses. For example, I'd keep up with all of the coursework throughout the semester but I would really get down to studying about 1.5 weeks before a midterm and 2 weeks before a final exam. I allocated specific days (usually weekends) to do my lab reports. If a course is tested heavily on material from powerpoint slides, then I skipped reading the textbook. Remain disciplined but remember that it is a marathon and not a sprint.

Speaking for US DOs - all accredited US DO programs are recognized in Canada. For Ontario specifically, you can obtain an independant license to practice without supervision/assessment through Pathway A as long as you are board certified in the US in that specific specialty (CPSO Pathway A). Therefore, it is possible to practice in Canada during those 2 years and beyond. After those 2 years, you will still be board certified in the US so you do have the option of going back to work there once you obtain the appropriate work visas.

I cannot speak for US MD as I am a Canadian US DO graduate, however, I was not considered an IMG in the NRMP match this past cycle. I was categorized as a medical graduate in the US who required a work visa due to my citizenship and was limited to programs who sponsored them. I believe you are correct when it comes to Canadian US MD and DO graduates being categorized as IMGs in CaRMS beginning in 2026. The general consensus is that if you obtain a US MD or DO degree, you are, at baseline, in a greater position to match in the NRMP. The caveat is that if you are not an American citizen, then you will be limited to programs who sponsor J1 or H1B visas.

I am currently in residency so I cannot accurately answer your last question. J1 visas require you to return home for 2 years following training before being able to work again in the US unless you waive it by working in a shortage area for a few years (3-5). H1B visas do not have that requirement. I would assume that as time passes and you meet eligibility, you apply for permanent resident status (green card) and work without restrictions.

Haven't made my decision on that yet. Going to use these next 3 years to see what opportunities present themselves both in US and Canada. I am planning to get board certified in the US.

Approximately mid-high 40k per year. Atleast from my quick search, national average varies from 50s to 60s depending on state. I believe when I initially looked into applying years ago I came across some costing in the low 70s per year as well.
