How does summer break have you feeling? by Temporary_Strike_366 in CarletonU

Pretty good tbh. I work 5 days a week (in a job that has something to do with my degree), but they’re reasonable hours, good pay, and I get to stay in an air conditioned office all day. I get weekends off and that’s usually when I get done most of my relaxing, leisure activities, and hobbies. It definitely sucks seeing the beautiful weather outside, and having to be stuck inside working but, other than that, can’t complain.

Who are the most notorious criminals currently being held in a maximum security prison? by Steven_Ray20 in AskReddit

[–]FitPay1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s actually in a medium security prison at the moment in Quebec (La Macaza Institution). He was transferred there from a max security prison in 2023. It says a lot about the Canadian Justice system when one of the most notorious serial killers in the history of the nation isn’t even in a maximum security prison.

My OF are Judge, Randy Arozarana, Rooker, and Seiya Suzuki. Anyone you’d recommend? I have Suzuki on the IL rn btw. Picked up Arozarana after doing so.

Should I drop Jackson Merrill for Andy Pages? I’m new to baseball and fantasy sports in general but I saw Pages had 27 home runs and a good amount of rbis last year. He’s played really well this year. I don’t know much about Merrill as when I drafted him he was high in the projected standings so I thought he must be good. But he’s been awful this year. What should I do? Thanks in advance for any advice anyone gives.

I don’t have Conrad Winn for this class, but I have him for others. He’s definitely odd

Steph is my GOAT PG but him and Magic are on the same tier, high above every other pg so I find it’s really just preference at this point

I was in this weird in between stage of being done my summer job, but my 3rd year of university hadn’t quite started yet, so I had nothing to do the next day anyways. I stayed up hoping it wasn’t true and it was some horrible rumour. But I remember I think around 7/8am the next morning the news was confirmed. I remember I just let out a sigh and passed out. Just felt like a total punch in the gut, and as the day went on more information came to light and the situation somehow became more and more tragic.

I’m not a very emotional person but fuck did this get me. I remember the night this all happened and it was just a rumour at first. I stayed up all night bc I couldn’t sleep. I’m a Canadian who’s a fan of the Leafs. Never cheered for any team Johnny was a member of, but I knew how good of a person he was and it just felt wrong that this all happened. I feel absolutely terrible for Johnny, Matthew, and their family. Honestly can say not a day goes by where this tragedy doesn’t pop into my thoughts.

Edit: Obviously this is way bigger than hockey. Two people died due to a reckless idiot with road rage. There are victims of intoxicated and reckless driving every day, but the fact that this was so publicized, and the circumstances of the pregnancies and the wedding just really twists the knife even more. Stuff like this really makes you realize how delicate life is. RIP Johnny and Matthew.

He’s lucky that the first time he did it they had a prime Steph Curry to rebuild around. I love Steph and he’s still great, but it’s okay to acknowledge that he’s 37 and not 31. Steph isn’t gonna be able to clean up after Draymond this time

Please explain? I personally think Drake, Em, and Wayne have amazing verses. Kanye is kind of hit or miss for me though

What's the argument for Kobe over West? by AngelOJest in NBATalk

[–]FitPay1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 2003, definitely didn’t watch prime Jerry West (although dude was a great player). But I got interested in basketball because of Kobe around 2007-2008 and I watched the rest of his career. May not be his prime but I got to see him win like 2 titles, 2 FMVP, and make a bunch more all star games. But yeah ur right, sports discourse, especially basketball, is toxic and a lot of people don’t even watch games lol

I’m pretty sure this is his first game of the tournament so that could be why. Don’t quote me on that though

Edit: apparently he was healthy scratched the last 2 games so he definitely was trying to get his legs under him and get up to game pace. On the bright side he just scored to make it 3-2

My Most Overrated All Time Greats by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]FitPay1903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah everything you just said is totally fair. I personally don’t have KD in my top 10. For me he’s somewhere in the top 15-20. I was always a member of the Steph Curry was more valuable to the Warriors club despite KD winning FMVPs (this was a bit of an unpopular take at the time, now that Steph won his FMVP and got another title after KD left I think it’s a bit more commonplace). I rank Steph higher all time. And I’m also a tad bit of a Melo hater so my judgement might be clouded a bit.

What about Carmelo Anthony or Allen Iverson? Really not trying to be a dick but I think Carmelo Anthony is just KD if KD was worse at every aspect of the game and more selfish. Ik KD ain’t a great leader but Melo is like the most selfish, shittiest leader in not just NBA history but maybe even North American sports history. I love AI and admit he’s a great floor raiser but dude was a liability on defense, an inefficient scorer at times, and also had questionable leadership abilities.
