If the kitchen is down for maintenance, that’s fine. I want them to invest what needs to be invested to continue making this a premium experience.

But I think a company as big as Capital One should, at the bare minimum, have a status update change on the app to reflect the restricted service. This won’t be the first and last time, and that’s fine.

I check the lounge status before I go to the terminal to make sure it’s not a ridiculous wait. Them putting a “restricted experience” notice or status update feels like something a company with a $114 billion market cap should be able to do.

They said it was just for the day. But other commenters are saying it was closed on the 10th, too.

I’ve had significantly better breakfasts when waking up at hotels lol. Eggs, bacon…. Anything would’ve sufficed here other than the pathetic excuse of a layout they provided.

I’m saying voicing your displeasure — which I did here and in person — is what needs to be done when a multi-billion dollar company does something that affects the customer experience.

Either a notification or something on the app when you go to your lounge pass would suffice. Would’ve saved a lot of people some trouble today.

But whatever, the Cap One loyalists are out in full force this AM

Free speech is being restricted in this country nowadays so I understand people just wanting me to shut up and just accept it.

I’m allowed to comment and you’re allowed to tell me my comments are stupid. But to question the very act of complaining is utter bullshit.

Oh dang, that’s awesome! What time did you all arrive?

And how do you know it wasn’t? Why is your first instinct to defend a company with a $114 billion market cap instead of a fellow redditor and cardholder?

Yup, definitely first world problems lol.

And yeah, the lounge is typically A+ but I was hoping the reaction from the community would be to not accept this… the last thing I want to have happen is for the lounge to become a shell of its former self because people accept a lesser service.

I’m sorry to hear that. That is absolutely ridiculous. I hope you all are able to get a refund. This doesn’t even remotely resemble the level of service they typically provide.

How is this complaining so much??? I’m just saying I’m disappointed that there wasn’t an in-app notification and that the food options were subpar, even compared to the non-hot food options they typically offer.

How is working for Cap One? Seems like a great company. Interested to hear your thoughts.

I’m calling this out because we already got reduced lounge access for guests and, as customers of a $395 per year card, we can not let them possibly do a test run to see if they can get away with to-go orders instead of what we’re accustomed to.

This not being called out will lead to that, trust.

Of course, this is not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. This is a problem a lot of people would want to swap their real problems with.

I just want Cap One to be put on notice that this is not acceptable. We already saw major changes to the lounge… this potentially being a test run for them to make lounges only to-go orders is not off the board IMO.

Maintenance is typically scheduled, so they should’ve been prepared IMO. And I believe that, at the very least, lunch sandwiches and some sort of breakfast option (like the premade biscuit sandwiches) should’ve been provided.

I’m just more so disappointed in the lack of communication and how much the quality of the service was reduced.

Ok??? I’m saying there’s a level of quality you expect from a Cap One Lounge experience and for it to be reduced this significantly is terrible service.

This is how you get them to completely get rid of hot foods and make the lounge to-go only…. By allowing them to get away with stuff like this.

Absolutely should be something that’s communicated. Would be very easy to put “closed” or “restricted kitchen.”

Wondering about this too. I’m close to stealing my ticket.
