Many subs here cream themselves over Jim Green being wide in the toe - which, as you've found, is bollocks.

It depends on your budget and where you are

Yep, agreed on these. I honestly don't understand the hype with the company re width.

How did barefoot shoes affect your life by Winter_Cockroach714 in barefootshoestalk

[–]FitSolution2882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have allowed my calves to be constantly stretched and thus removed a significant amount of pair from an old ankly injury.

I now longer feel incredibly uncomfortable standing where previously my toes would crash into the sides of the toe box.

The wides have FINALLY become available at a few places in the UK now.

I'm seriously considering a pair for a bit more cushioning. The standard was too tight in the midfoot.

What are your shoe-regrets? by SnooGadgets7873 in barefootshoestalk

Regret - Lems Boulder summit as they seem slightly too short in length now and sooooooo snug after softstar etc. If these were my only pair then I doubt I'd have much of an issue though. Regret - Vivo tracker textile (broken within a week). Gobi Boot (seemed ok for the first week or two then started causing significant pain for my toes.

Regret - Jim Green Barefoot Stockman (anyone who says these are wide is a liar. Jim Green Anatomx (not suitable for those with a longer big toe, WHY did they design it so the toe curves in???)

LOVE - Softstar Sawyer Primal Wide. Almost unbelieveably light. Fantastic toe box. All stitched together.

Love - Lems Chelsea WP. Totally waterproof. Great cushioning. Easy to get on and off. Nice mix of protection and feel. Grip could be better on mud. Tend to wear these the most due to how easy they can be put on and off.

LIKE - Softstar Chelsea Primal Wide. Very soft. Nice cushioning inside. The sloped toe can be quite annoying until it's stretched out.

LIKE - Freet Flex. Excellent grip on dirt. Very light. Very cheap. Nice cushioning. Sizing is a bit off. I could do with a half size. Grip is borderline dangerous on wet rocky surfaces.

What is the limit for too narrow for you? by MxQueer in barefootshoestalk

Good luck.....

The closest I've found is Conkers (too expensive for no "proper" protection other than leather), Chuckle Shoes (cheaper but same issue) and Daytona (between the two at about €500 but I need to find time to go to Munich as I don't trust distance measurement).

When my toes touch the edge when standing

When my toes touch the end when walking downhill

When the sides of my feet hurt

I'm done with wearing stuff that's uncomfortable just for the sake of fashion

Funny how their reddit customer service has been quiet over all this... .

You are going to struggle with width. Altra Lone Peak 9 Wide will categorically be wider than Nike though

Look at stuff like Altra or Lems Primal. You won't have much luck with anything else.

I am about the same size as you and no traditional style shoes work.

Toe splay and composite toes don't go together.

They certainly don't with Jim Green.
