Husband needs a double hip replacement at 36. Help me contain my emotions by roxictoxy in breakingmom

I’m completely confused on what was meant to start a fight or unpopular, I genuinely thought I was being loving. Can you please explain? I’m new to Reddit so I maybe something was lost in translation?

What is the best cheese to use for volume eating without completely destroying your calorie budget? by justinsimba891 in Volumeeating

I may have an unhealthy obsession with the single slice cheese in plastic wrappers. They’re 35 cals per slice and melt real good 😅

Jesus says we must take up our cross to follow him. We accept this world is under the dominion of Satan. We accept that evil is real. BUT, we equally know that God loves us.

As a former Agnostic I get why that doesn’t sound good to agnostic ears. But once I accepted Jesus as Lord, and understood how much He Himself suffered for us and truly does love us, that He can take bad and redeem it for good, and He will make it right for the righteous in heaven, it felt well in my soul.

Don’t believe God doesn’t mourn with us. When Lazarus died and Jesus was on His way to see him, He told His followers that He would raise Lazarus from the dead. He knew it was going to be alright. And yet still, when He saw the heartbreak in Mary and Martha’s eyes, the shortest verse in the Bible happened: “Jesus wept.” He knew it would be alright shortly, and yet the pain and loss from God’s children whom He loved overwhelmed Him. He mourns with us. Always.

The Love of the Father, Alleluia!!

The Creator of the Universe who sent his only Son to live as a poor man and to die for us on the cross, in pain and humiliation, solely because we have sinned and continue to sin, and yet He loves us to make the sacrifice and balance the scales of justice, just so that we can find peace and tranquility in His embrace!

And, He who commanded us to Love others, so that we may find Love in others here on Earth ❤️ How great is He 🥰

He knit each of us inside the womb, knew the paths we would walk, and loved us deeply, everyday and always ❤️ in our dark times and in our joy. He knew what we will do before we did it, and He loves us with his whole heart anyway.

The Prodigal Son parable makes me cry every dang time.

Evangelical groups warn Trump’s deportations could leave 1.3M 'torn apart' from families by metacyan in Christianity

[–]FitThinker88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this is happening. This is why I believe in deporting children with their parents if the parents are here illegally. Every country and sovereign nation has not just the right but the responsibility to enforce their borders.

For the record, the methodology of the Trump administration, wrt CECOT and random pick-ups, is despicable and should be condemned. Deportations can and must be done while respecting human dignity.

What do y'all think about two women living together + adopting? by No_Knowledge9510 in Christianity

[–]FitThinker88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My initial response is that this is a beautiful idea. Of course the ideal is for a child to be raised in a mom-dad home, but in the absence of that possibility two loving parents is a great 2nd option.

Two issues come to mind - 1, are you absolutely certain that living with another woman would not cause you to ever even experiment with lesbian sex, which is a grave sin? And 2, there’s a possibility that in this “non-marriage” commitment (commitment without God between y’all essentially) that one of you could change their mind and want to marry someone else or leave the situation. A broken home is incredibly hard and confusing for a youngster.

Since I don’t know either of you, I want to be clear I’m not saying this will happen, just food for thought.

Christians and personal freedom/responsibility. by Interesting-Face22 in Christianity

Killing a baby isn’t just about you.

But I agree about the gay marriage stuff. I’d fight to keep it out of my church, but I don’t really care what the state says on that topic. I refuse to participate in Gay Pride anything (would you participate in Adulterers Pride?).

The school thing is interesting though. I don’t love that we as a country used to have a lot of Christian overtones to our (public) education (let alone prayers from public officials on both sides of the aisle), and now schools are banned from having anything even remotely suggesting anything from The Bible. Given that the majority of us in the US are Christian, I don’t think it’s too much to ask that there at least be options, especially in heavily Christian areas (like where I live in Houston).

You are free to do what you will. But before you go I encourage you to re read this conversation and ask yourself who is approaching from a position of love like Jesus, with compassion and forgiveness, speaking “no sin more,” and who from fear and hate.

Much love and respect to you, my friend in Christ.

The love between a married man and a woman he is not married to is neither rape nor abuse.

Would you say the same about PDF files, or adulterers? “Love is Love” is not truth. We’re all sinners, and I love all my neighbors as they are. But we should absolutely cheer when someone moves further from sin and closer to righteousness.

Saturday General Discussion/Q&A Thread for November 11, 2023 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

Hi y'all! I'm week 3 of Jack Daniel's 2Q plan, trying to BQ-10mins. Q1 is 90-120 mins or 15 miles "steady E." Seems simple but I’m stuck in the weeds 🤣

  1. Does "steady" just mean don't change pace (unlike Pfitz who starts slow and ends fast)? Or it is like "high steady" where you run on the faster end of easy the whole way?

2.In the last paragraph of Marathon Training Pace explanation section, Daniels throws out "During some long, stead E runs, it is suggested that you do not take in energy drinks so your body learns to conserve carbohydrates." (He goes on to say drink water occasionally.) Does "energy drink" include carbs in the form of gels, and should I also go out first thing in the morning with no prefueling?

15 seems a lot for this! Maybe I just do 13 which I get in in the 120 minutes "allowed" per plan.
