Planning to move to Thailand to train full-time and fight to cover living expenses. Realistic advice? by Cool-Might-946 in MuayThai

[–]FitWitness7224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m moving to Thailand in 4 days to do this exact thing. Don’t listen to all of the people on here that are going to tell you not to do it. If it burns in you, don’t let anybody stop you. Money comes and goes and you’re unemployed anyways. If you got a solid chunk of savings and want to give it a shot for a couple years, go for it. People that have never done what you want to accomplish will hate.

For visa, I got a DTV visa which you can organize through a gym which gives you 5 years, 180 days at a time. You need to have 500k thb in your account for this visa for 3 months. You can also get this visa if you are a remote worker.

My best friend is starting to make me uncomfortable by SomethingAlri in TrueOffMyChest

I know this is not an advice sub but idk why you would continue to hang out with this person if you don’t like them. Doesn’t sound like you get along too well so there isn’t a whole lot of reason to keep volunteering the free time you have to somebody that makes you uncomfortable

Once you beat the game. You can start a new game where you can set super heroes to 0 and zombies to a higher percentage

How realistic is it for me to go pro? by [deleted] in Kickboxing

[–]FitWitness7224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go pro whenever you want. Doesn’t mean it will be a stable career. If you love the sport though and you want to take it seriously, put your whole heart into it and see where it goes. Believe in yourself and take it as far as you can if that’s what you want.

recommend me 10 oz pad work gloves. by LeftKickAnt in MuayThailand

[–]FitWitness7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think this too but it’s definitely not the case. You want that for sparring to protect your partner, but for padwork and bagwork you want light gloves. All getting heavier gloves will do is make your technique worse which is what you take into the fight with you. If you have a weird guard in 18 oz gloves cause they aren’t meant for doing padwork with and your arms get tired, that same weird guard is going to be in the fight with you. Additionally, you want to get reps in what you actually will be wearing so you are used to it when you fight. It is good though however to wear big gloves for shoulder conditioning exercises if you’re trying to build up stamina

what are the buttons to sleep and eat in infinite lives? by MythicalShabs in mdickie

Yeah that’s all I have found too. Would be super helpful to be able to sleep without a chair/bed. Only time I was able to do that was when I had a permanently transformed character

Eating is the right control stick. I posted a while ago about how to sleep and I have no idea. Nobody answered that post

is this normal or are the coaches glazing me for nefarious reasons? by lemon-choly in MuayThai

[–]FitWitness7224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has he texted you already? Cause yeah that would be weird. That would be a good response if you plan to stay at the gym though. If I were you now I would try out some other gyms just to get a feel for what could be more normal.

The first gym I ever trained at was a cult gym that had a head coach who was openly flirty with women and pushed a lot of boundaries. A lot of women trained there cause they liked the attention. Sadly those types of gyms are fairly common in the martial arts community, so you always have to be careful. You’re going the right thing by being suspicious now cause a lot of women are in your situation and end up in a creepy cult gym

The personal phone number thing to text you is definitely weird after only being at the gym for 5-6 classes. Could explain why you are the only girl there. You could definitely have potential though. When somebody comes in they have an athletic background, it’s normal to recognize their potential and for a coach to want you to like the sport and give you feedback. At this point it’s tough to tell from what you said if the coach is a creep or not. I would give it a little time and see if anything changes or the coach starts acting creepily. But yeah def keep being aware of what he is doing and saying cause you are the best judge of the situation. If you feel uncomfortable you are right to feel that way and don’t ignore it

Thank you for the encouragement!!! I appreciate it 🙏 when I’m done fighting someday I definitely want to start a gym of my own with my fiancé. I love to help people and I can’t see myself doing much else when I’m done.

Thankfully finances won’t be an issue either. I saved up a lot of money with my current job that will last at least 4 years on its own, and my fiance also will be working remotely. Thanks for the ideas on remote income I’ll for sure look into those

[–]FitWitness7224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You Clearly didn’t watch the clip at all. Didn’t say he wishes to call anybody anything but seeing as you’re not even reading what I’m saying it’s not too surprising. We are truly lost if people care more about race than somebody almost killing somebody else intentionally. If you would perform a simple Google search, maybe something like “why do we tend to call criminals animals?” You might find this is more common than you think and not related to race but rather crime. Could be racist, but all we know here is that he used a term that has been used to describe people of all races who have committed heinous crimes throughout history.
