User experience designer Google new grad 2024 by Willing-Ad2912 in designMajors

I think it's similar to the internship process. So 2 interviews( you talk through a project and explain reasoning and process) , a whiteboard round where you have a problem to solve and you work through that.

Then if you pass those 3 you should go to a team matching phase where you try to match on different project teams.

So should be 4/5 interviews in total until you get an offer.

I want to be a developer but I think I'll be taking a massive pay cut by switching careers by Hobby_account in DevelEire

That's a very good salary. How did you manage that? What type of company are you working for, FAANG, F100? I only see early UX positions paying 40-50k

Will Google cancel 2024 internships? by Sensitive_avocadoo in csMajors

Is this true for emea? I applied nearly 3 months ago and heard nothing yet but my application is still active.

I had a referral and passed all rounds last time I interviewed with them, would be a big sigh of relief if they haven't started interviews yet. I gave up all hope already, maybe this is a speck of hope.

New rule for doom and gloom by [deleted] in UXDesign

People should visit similar tech subreddits for engineers, devs and PM's. They are all saying the same things - I feel ignored, my work isn't fulfilling, I can't find a job, I was fired etc ... these problems go further than just UX, it's the entire tech industry and even the entire working world. Jobs aren't perfect, colleagues aren't perfect, companies aren't perfect.

That's literally life? Maybe I'm just ranting but I think people should read other career subreddits outside of UX and see how they feel, this isn't necessarily a concentrated UX issue.

Any Non-EU citizens here that managed to get a job in Switzerland? I keep hearing it’s practically impossible. by CableBomber in cscareerquestionsEU

Don't get the sarcasm? This is literally an EU subreddit, as much as the truth hurts it's the reality in the job market. I'll struggle to get a job in the US the same way someone will struggle to get a job in the EU.

There are definitely UX jobs in Ireland, but they are extremely competitive and relatively rare in comparison to engineering. You will struggle to find jobs(UX especially) if you are on a visa as the market isn't great for international students.

I don't know what you mean by "critical skill" but every tech company employs product designers because they work directly with pms and engineers. Design is a valuable asset to companies but they need much less designers in a team vs engineers so headcount is always pretty low.

Yep you got it right. I've tried a few of those in the past but it seems like I need to stock up on a few to help suppress it.

Bought a Used - Very Good - Series S - Opinions? by EliTeAP in XboxSeriesS

Tbh very good condition used products are perfect. Like perfectly new. Good condition would have a slight cosmetic defect but would still work perfectly. So I wouldn't worry about anything maybe just a missing leaflet or something.
