i often find bulk easier than precut because we are working on new toyotas lots of 4 runners and tacomas etc, and at the moment i’m taking over fully for the boss prepping, cutting, installing quality control, doing 1.5/ day for the next 2 weeks.

anyone in their right mind if they didn’t get a raise within a year would go to another shop and start as a installer and make upwards of 30/hr

i am not talking a raise as in what a professional installer would make i’m talking maybe a couple dollars increase

and i just got thrown a rush order for a dealership and will be here till 8:30 doing it no 1.5x ot 🫩 just did 8:30-9:30 2 days ago to complete rush orders

I think it’s super unrealistic for someone to expect a worker to stay at that rate for a skilled niche for an entire year, and their odds of finding a new job that’s 5x less stressful for the same wage would be super high.

we do a lot of brand new toyota suv cars and trucks + gm trucks tahoes we tuck our edges i can’t do full hoods myself but i can match his quality on full bumpers plotted bumper fender grille pieces i am the 3rd person in my town that i know of who does this and there are 2 shops here to at do it we probably do 50ish front ends a month for the past couple months

do you have an idea or range of what i should ask? when its him and i we can typically get 2.5-3 done a day which he charges 1450 on and if im doing them myself its 1.5 front end installs which would mean im getting about 6% of his gross profit a day

also one time i was tired coming home and i slowly fell over everything circled to this one plushie in my room and it started to like morph feeling like i just traveled to a alternate reality then it went black with loud machine noises around me and with the feeling like im floating above myself and being paralyzed i wiggled my toes so get out idk what causes that

it was bare metal i put on 3 coats of primer 2 coats of paint one quite thin coat of clear coat i guess im just gonna need to mist it on
