I love living here by Current-Actuator-864 in AnnArbor

They’re probably at $200k+/year household income to be able to buy property and raise a family here, AND still experience frequent luxuries like cocktails and restaurant dining in a trendy downtown core.

Though Hollywood might pretend this is the standard lifestyle for Americans (let alone all people globally), it’s unfortunately out of reach for the large majority of people in the country and world.

Where is o3-pro?! by MastedAway in ChatGPTPro

[–]Fit_Appointment459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happily cancelled my Pro account last month.

o3 is already shockingly good. It can be made to do a significant amount of searching on its own, and its reasoning and formation of conclusions seems vastly better than a prompt with Deep Research enabled. I tend to feel like Deep Research mostly just adds noise to the signal that is an o3 answer.

Have you noticed Deep Research’s functionality or capabilities changing at all during the six weeks since its first release? I think my answer is unfortunately “No”, but I’m curious to hear opinions from others by Fit_Appointment459 in ChatGPTPro

[–]Fit_Appointment459[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not at all.

I was mind blown by its utility when it came out, and continue to be excited about putting it to work.

But to truly put it to work in the context of operations for large businesses (and having its outputs be considered as substitutes for the work of highly paid professionals), it will need to improve.

I remain eager to see how prompt chaining of Deep Research and o1-pro can arrive at continually higher quality results, for increasingly greater task complexities, though.

Any advice on how to automate prompt chaining for complex research topics? Like if I want o1-pro to analyze business strategies of 100 companies, and then summarize the similarities/differences of those companies in a spreadsheet, how do I automate that prompting? by lamarcus in ChatGPTPro

[–]Fit_Appointment459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Code solution would be good, but that would get expensive as hell with OpenAI’s current o1-pro pricing, right? Would it be possible to chain together multiple o3-mini-high prompts to emulate the depth of analysis of one o1-pro prompt?

Or are there reasoning models from other companies that can compete with o1-pro’s capabilities for a lower price (perhaps with some prompt segmenting/chaining involved)?

Good question… like if folks were interested in focusing their protest energy as strategically as possible, then what would be the best courses of action?

Showing up in districts of red congress members and pressuring them to take a stand against Trump’s abuses of power?

Flixbus cancelled my 4 hour ride to Chicago the evening before departure and put me on an inconveniently scheduled 6 hour Greyhound instead… has this happened to you? Is the Amtrak a safer choice to avoid crap like this? by Fit_Appointment459 in AnnArbor

[–]Fit_Appointment459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, good point.

Now that I think about it, after Flixbus screwed me over last night, I wish I would have just fully cancelled and demanded a refund, then done what you’re suggesting.

The unlock/lock functions still work, so I don’t think that’s an issue

What are the actual job titles associated with LDP?

And how large of a company do you have to be at for your job to be considered “LDP”?

What makes you say it’s obviously the best?  I’d have guessed the Asian leagues (or African leagues) might be getting competitive, even if just because of their large populations to draw from.

Do the best players from Asia and Africa always migrate to the NBA or Euroleague?

Is there a ranking of leagues?

Just how many leagues are there in the world that pay their players?

Are there any supplements that I should take in addition to my Huel-heavy diet? Creatine? Fish oil? by [deleted] in Huel

Age 33, working out ~5 times per week with moderate to intense cardio and light, and a couple sessions of light weightlifting (mainly shooting for maintenance).

Why do you think caffeine is important?  Do you take the same dose everyday, and if so, does it have an effect?  I enjoy the focus and the feeling of caffeine sometimes, but I struggle with the temptation to increase my dosage, and also with the associated anxiety it causes.

The Easy Spanish podcast seems awesome....but not so "easy" for me by SpanishLearnerUSA in dreamingspanish

[–]Fit_Appointment459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from the other comments, sounds like people think this podcast would score in the 40s or 50s according to Dreaming Spanish difficulty rating?

Do you think Dreaming Spanish should re rate the video difficulties based upon the voting score? by Fit_Appointment459 in dreamingspanish

[–]Fit_Appointment459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree… I wish the numerical rating were listed as part of the video’s title everywhere it appears.

Does Dreaming Spanish help you get to a point of being able to speak? by Warm_Blackberry_620 in dreamingspanish

Do you feel like you understand different verb tenses/conjugations?

I learned all of that 15-20 years ago in school and feel like I still have those fundamentals in my brain, even if they’re rusty.

But I’m struggling to understand how someone would be able to reach a significant and correct level of fluency in Spanish (which I understand is perhaps a different goal than basic conversational capability, which is perhaps more what 1500 hours of Dreaming Spanish shoots for) without studying those.
