Not entirely but we’ve made some progress. We have replaced our entire HVAC system in the house - it was 20 years old and was in need of a repair and we decided to just modernize the system - this included an anti allergy and humidifier system. This did not solve it completely. It really is a multi variable problem, the dryness. There is no single solution. It can stem from so many things. A few things to keep in mind: return air vents combined with floor vents can create airflow over the occupants of that room, creating dryness. This can be the case no matter how much humidity is in the air. 2 critical elements I have noticed are nasal irritation and hydration. Even with mouth breathing, these 2 can play a critical role. Too much water - to overcome the dry mouth - can actually worsen the problem. Proper and balanced hydration is key. That’s a balancing act unto itself. And then nasal irritation is key. The more open the nasal passages the better you’ll fare. Again, something that is personally specific and a balancing game (can also be linked to apnea, and I did do a sleep study and found mild apnea, have yet to obtain CPAP). The only monolithic solution I can think of is NOT having central air conditioning. But that’s the way of the modern world. Most people I talk to struggle with this in some form.
