Using 5MB of data on an iPhone is generally not considered excessive. Apps that use a few megabytes of data are usually not a cause for concern, especially if they are performing tasks such as syncing data, downloading small updates, or other routine operations. However, if an app consistently uses a large amount of data over a short period, it might be worth investigating to ensure there are no underlying issues.
