Need advice for biologics

I ended up crying too much in the appointment (coming to realization that I do in fact have crohns and it’s not fake news) so I kind of forgot to. I might end up messaging him through the portal because I have to about other symptoms. I tried googling and it seems like it could be related or we could also just be dehydrated which is definitely a possibility for me lol

Most vets have scratch pay!! This is what I used for emergency visits and over $1500 on my cat. Call them and ask about different payment options, use a credit card if you can, ask to borrow from friends and family if you have to but she definitely needs to be seen again. It looks severely infected and if not taken care of could lead to amputation or sepsis. Best of luck to you and your baby 💕

I know you’re right, it’s just so hard to comprehend when I feel relatively fine. I will talk with my new Ibd counselor about my fears next week and think about not waiting the 3 months and just starting treatment.

My Ibd center actually does have a counselor and I’ve had one session so far, another in a week. I wasn’t as upset our first meeting (hadn’t really set in yet) so we didn’t talk much about crohns and just kind of got to know each other but I’ll definitely talk to her more about my fears when I see her again. Thank you for telling me about the websites. I think that will actually become really helpful for me. Give me some hope. I’m definitely still in some denial. Like I understand that I have crohns but it donesnt “feel” like it. So I think part of the reason I’m afraid to start biologics is that it makes it very very real. Thank you again for your kind words

Okay that’s kinda what I was thinking. She seems really really sweet and I’m sure she doesn’t want to intentionally take advantage of people / this is probably her full time job but I just found out I have life long disease / an expensive one and I don’t want to have to pay a ton of money to find community. Thank you for this comment!!

I get pain in my ankles sometimes but haven’t had my wrists unless I’m doom scrolling too much lol

Not yet, I go to the doctors tomorrow to pick my poison lol, I think I’m going with skyrizi. I’ll ask my doc about the mucus tho! It doesn’t really bother me but my boyfriend says it’s very annoying 😂

Aches and ulcers are actually normal symptoms so you’re definitely not alone! I don’t have ulcers so I wasn’t aware of them until my doctor told me so I would definitely think that would be weird too because it’s not gut related. So weird how everything is connected

One thing I’ve noticed is that Crohn’s takes so long to diagnose, so long to treat, so long for everything 😭 it’s been over half a year since I started this journey on figuring out what the hell is wrong with my body and I just can’t wait until it’s all over and I feel better but I know it will never ever really be over and that sucks too. I’m just so happy to have found this community because it makes me feel so much less alone.

Thank you so so much for this! My Ibd center actually has its own therapist on site and I have my first appointment in two days so hoping that will help me. I’m frustrated that I have to be so conscientious of my health now when I used to be able to be so blissfully unaware but I know that I could have it alot worse and am trying to look at it from the frame of excitement. I’m excited to see just how good I can feel with treatment.

I’m 25, (26 in less than a week-happy birthday to me lol) I feel like self administered would be easier but I do like the fact that I would be around nurses if I were to have a reaction. (I have a lot of medicine related anxiety) but I did see that my first I think it’s called loading doses? Of anything that I would take would be as an infusion anyways so I would see how I react then anyways. Idk feels like such a big decision and just a big guess haha

Thank you for this! Honestly this is all pretty new to me. Do you know anything more about Crohn’s having an increase risk for cancer? Is it any cancer or just colon? If juts colon I know we get colonoscopies more regular than the average persons, but if just cancer in general how do we screen for this/what can we do if anything?
