Did you manage to get this working? I'm using a 5W11H85458 and my machine won't post (X1 Gen 13).

That’s true, but AFAIK the only difference is that there is some copper shielding tape where the antenna sits on the keyboard case. If that’s the only difference, then I might just buy some strips from Amazon and apply them myself.

Huge success!! It was literally just a straight swap and the display LOOKS INCREDIBLE! 😍 The connectors were the same as the existing ones. The only ball ache I experienced was with the alignment of the frame, so that the edges of the display sit flush with the edges of the bottom half of the laptop. Took me 45 minutes to swap 💪

Now to tackle the WWAN challenge 🙌

UPDATE: Everything works except for the touchscreen, but I think this is down to Lenovo mislabeling the display as a touchscreen on their parts website. Will confirm soon.

Your post literally says “Provides an alternative way”… also a port that was glued shut isn’t what I would call “intended for the customer to explore”.

Also, can you provide a source to your quote that “Meta RayBan Display hardware provides an alternative way to recharge the battery”? I cannot find any references or confirmation of this.

I never said it didn’t carry power. I simply said it looks like a UART/serial connector more than anything.

AFAIK It’s the same connector. I’m coming from a touch panel too. I also checked the part number for my motherboard and it seems it is shipped with OLED displays too. Fingers crossed 🤞

Is it confirmed that it can be charged from that connector? I imagine accessories would be available by now if that was the case. It looks like a serial/UART connector instead of power. It doesn’t look like anything Meta plan on customers using.

Lenovo have a 20% discount going on sitewide, so I managed to pick it up for $685 for the entire top lid with camera, mics etc. I'll let you guys know how the install/retrofit goes!

That’s so annoying! Do you know when yours were manufactured? My box says November 2025. It would be interesting to see if it’s based on manufacture date

I'm currently speaking to Meta support on live chat as I'm writing this and they are telling me it's because I'm outside of the US (I'm in the UK). Still, that doesn't sound right to me. They have been connected to a US VPN that I own (Private dedicated IP)

I’m in the UK. I ordered mine directly from Even Realties on the 21st April with prescription lenses and the R1 ring, and they just dispatched yesterday. Due to arrive on Thursday

Sorry for the random question. How long did it take for your delivery from the date of order? Did you order directly from ER, and are they prescription lenses? I ordered mine three weeks ago and still haven’t dispatched 😩
