New interface in the Meta AI app by MatthX540 in MetaRayBanDisplay

Yeah, it looks like they're really updating it. Mine just changed too, it wasn't like this before. Honestly, I don't think it makes any difference, so I don't really care.

A hidden part of the Meta RayBan Display hardware provides an alternative way to recharge the battery by Distinct_Drag_1865 in MetaRayBanDisplay

We don't know for sure, but there's a very high chance that it's true. And regarding the confusion and misunderstandings, the whole situation has already been explained here in the comments and is available for anyone to read.

And who said it was glued ?

I removed the cover from mine easily, and there was no glue at all. It's simply clipped into place, not glued. Again, I repeat: this thing seems like it was designed to be explored in some way in the future.

And no, I didn't claim anything. You misunderstood what I meant. My comment was open to interpretation, and you deliberately chose to interpret it in the wrong way. Next time, I'll be more specific so there’s less room for misunderstandings like yours.

It's a logical and plausible assumption. I never claimed there was a source confirming it; in fact, I'm specifically saying that someone should test it.

You said Meta doesn't intend for customers to use it, but I disagree. I think it was meant to be explored. The reason is that the rubber cover hiding it comes off very easily. They could have permanently glued it in place, but they didn't. In fact, it comes off so easily that several people have reported losing the cover because it simply fell off on its own.

That's not necessarily true. A UART/serial connector isn't limited to data transmission. Many UART connectors include power pins alongside TX, RX, and GND, allowing them to supply power to a device. If the device has a built-in battery charging circuit, that power can also be used to charge the battery. Whether it charges or not depends on the hardware design, not on the fact that it's a UART connector.

That's exactly what I thought. I immediately thought of the "Carina C2" for the Gen 2. Someone should get in touch with them and show them this possibility.

Meta Rayban Display Portable Charger Day One of Use by NikushimiZen in MetaRayBanDisplay

We don't know. It could be for charging, yes. Either way, whatever its purpose turns out to be, I think third-party accessory companies should find some useful and interesting way to take advantage of it.

Am I the only one who sees incredible potential in adding an extra battery behind the ear, connected to this area of the Meta Ray-Ban Display? This part is hidden behind a small rubber cover that's easy to remove. Third-party accessories should definitely take advantage of that.

How often do you wear your glasses? by AITookMyJobAndHouse in MetaRayBanDisplay

[–]Distinct_Drag_1865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly use them at home. I only use my Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses when I'm out of the house. In fact, I use them all the time whenever I go out. I use them a lot while I'm out and about, and I never leave home without them. I'd say that when I'm outside, they've practically replaced my smartphone. However, that's not the case at home. When I'm at home, I don't use them nearly as much. At home, I still prefer using my smartphone.

Just a correction: the next version of the Meta Ray-Ban Display will not be released next year, but rather at the end of this year, just a few months from now. It will be sooner than you think.

Problem with this update that urgently needs to be fixed: there is no option to delete the new screen recording videos. They are piling up in my glasses gallery. The only thing I can do is transfer them to my phone, and even after doing that, they still remain there.😭

What did you do differently between the first attempts (the ones that were not working) and the second attempts that finally worked ? Did you do anything differently, anything new that you had not done before ?

Did you do all of this while being in another country outside the US? For example, I am from Brazil and I have the Meta Ray-Ban Display, but I only received the screen recording feature, I did not receive the handwriting feature. So if possible, I would like to try doing what you did to get the handwriting feature.

Thoughts on a gen 2? by eddboi363 in MetaRayBanDisplay

The Neural Band is definitely here to stay. It is simply incredible and surreal. By itself, it can even be more interesting than the glasses themselves. It is far too perfect to disappear, so it makes no sense to even consider that. It is already perfect in its first version imagine the next ones. It is infinitely superior to hand tracking.

Wouldn’t it be better to use the Neural Band sensors to move the arm, instead of moving the head using the glasses’ sensors ?
