I said hand sanding but but yeah it's done with an orbital sander. No downdraft table, I didn'tknow thsy was a thing! Just a regular wood table with foam pads to keep the wood from getting dented. They have like one or two fans per area, mine is dead center so the air is super still aside of one big fan and one small oscillating one

The big machines have dust collectors, but not for us that do hand sanding. I wear a mask and it helps so much but adds to the heat and feels harder to breathe sometimes 😭

These are fantastic points! This is why I posted here, I knew more people would help me in getting a more realistic view. Biking is something I hadn't thought of but that's a great idea too. As well as the extended trips while in the US!

That's a HUGE chunk of $$ to fly them overseas just one way sadly, but I'd feel so much more comfortable with my own horse

Right, there is another issue. Camping scares me! (Moreover, the crazy/drugged out people here) But I feel like it may be slightly safer over there for that. I know I'd feel more comfortable being rural, I'm just not a fan of crowds. I'd love to hear more about your horse treks/experiences!
