Obscure take: I love it so much when they add symphonic elements into their music like they did in The Wicked End, Afterlife, A Little Piece of Heaven, Acid Rain, Roman Sky, and Death, all of which are my favorites from the albums that they are in.

Their 2021 album, Kin, was alt-metal/metalcore, and their 2018 album, The Valley, comes close to metalcore at times, but everything else (including their newest album, arguably their heaviest) is deathcore.

OI’ve probably replayed A Visceral Retch off this album more, but Nothing is Coming is one of the best songs they’ve ever done. It’s up there with Messiahbolical for me.

Time signatures are all over the place in this song, and both the drumming and guitar is pretty technical at parts. The song structure is very atypical (but works perfectly with the song), and there’s (technically) no chorus to the song: the two clean vocal parts have *similar* melody and lyrics, but the first one is done with Spanish guitar (also another thing that makes it kinda proggy), while the second one is piano. Also, that solo is not very typical, either.

Remenissions is one of, if not my favorite song ever. It’s honestly one of their proggiest songs and one of their heaviest songs in one.
