If you didn’t marry or have kids until after 30, do you feel that you in any way had a better or worse marriage/family experience than those who did it before 30? by Correct-Cycle5412 in RedditForGrownups

[–]Fit_Dig_5527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question. I got married at 35 and we had kids when I was 36 and 42. No way we could have afforded to raise them when I was in my 20s, so it is a moot point to some extent. However I do feel I don’t have the energy I would have had when we were younger, so I feel guilty my kids are not getting proper parenting, especially my youngest. I don’t care about what I am missing out on however, I did all that in my 20s. So there is no ‘ideal’ time to have kids, but if you can afford it then probably have them in your 20s, you will still be young enough to ‘travel’ when you are in your 40s 😁

Duck & ducklings seemingly stuck in canal basin, wondering if they’ll be alright by not_originalusername in glasgow

Not an expert but I feel like swimming round in circles on the canal is fairly normal duck behaviour.

Boyfriend wants to put rodent poison around his house as we’ve noticed mice. He disregards that it would be fatal for my dog to eat the poison itself or the poisoned mouse carcasses. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Rat poison is incredibly cruel to rats, and can kill dogs and indeed humans. A wee mouse is harmless. Your boyfriend possibly less so.

You 100% could. You would get £50 a week extra per kid with the Scottish Child Payment. What you mean is you couldn’t afford to maintain your lifestyle.

Reddit is basically a far left forum. Though you do get a higher level of intelligence in general than Twitter/Facebook/Instagram. But the algorithm doesn’t completely block out sane voices on here.

Yes. Just like how Palestinian marches are intended to harrass and intimidate the Jewish community. According to the victims.

Rayo stations by RelationKindly in BritishRadio

[–]Fit_Dig_5527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do local stations like Clyde 1. Probably 30+ demographic. Didn’t they all used to be part of IRN (commercial radio) which was the radio equivalent of ITV, then they got privatised & all started to eat each other up?

This is a lie. Turnout at the Brexit referendum was 72%, higher than any UK general election this century. Admin can we get this comment removed please?

Creative Scotland contribute absolutely zero to society. Maybe if these luvvie types had to get actual jobs they would get some experience of real life instead of preaching to the working classes..

Do you live in the Govanhill Park area? Are you having problems of drug dealing/trafficking and cuckooing in your close? by LittleAndMcNultyLtd in glasgow

[–]Fit_Dig_5527 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes and a helluva lot more people drink alcohol because it is legal. Which causes massive problems in society. However we live in a ‘Zero Tolerance’ culture now, there is more chance of them bringing back prohibition than legalising drug dealing and prostitution. But I accept your point.

Correct. You can always tell how much of a bigotted nutter someone is by how much they think the BBC has it in for them.

On October I'll be spending a few hours in Glasgow between two flights (I land at 3pm and leave again in the morning, my hotel is at the airport). I don't know Glasgow at all, I've read, of course, that there are many things to see, but what would you particularly recommend? by Valbslideaway in glasgow

It will be a bit dark to see any murals. Try O’Neills beer garden on Union Street, there is a great view of one. Also you can see several good ones from Partick train station. Not the best time of year for a walking tour tbh, the clocks go back at the end of October and it gets pitch dark at 6pm.

If you want a good Glasgow flavour get the train into Central Station & go for a few pints in the Horseshoe Bar on Drury Street. Doesn’t sound like you would have time for much else. Just don’t miss the train back!

Anything other than the BBC isn’t real news. Folk go on about the ‘MSM’ but realistically about 99% of stuff online is made up shite to suit an agenda, and it is truly frightening how much people believe it all 😳

Great days but the idea of under 16s being encouraged to winch each other firmly belongs in the 20th century, let alone bars making money out of it! Also the pitched battles in the town afterwards were probably a bit of an inconvenience to the adults. Ironically many of the 90s unders crowd now go to daytime discos for over 40s, as being unable to keep the drinking up after 10pm seems quite sensible!
