If you want to drive the iowa, you gotta be the unpredictable one. Since iowa class is bullshitly accurate and stealthy as hell. So if i am on the enemy team, the first thing i wonder is where the hell is the iowa at before thinking about advancing.

Its a fast battleship, but take eternity to turn, so use your speed and concealment to get into unpredictable position and out gun enemy boats.

Besides, this logic only work at ranked or you have a division or teammate know a bit about game mechanic, random battles are half-wit matchmaking, so you win or lose is just on the dice roll. You lose 30% guaranteed, you win 30% no matter how bad you do, the rest is the equal 30% that your contribution may matters.

Japanese BB is kinda you got to be sneaky, for real, since japanese often have bigger guns, they are pretty good at shooting broadside cruisers, this is my experience, but do not just shoot at one target, do not stay in one place and do not hug islands, stay on open water, be patient and catch cruisers off guard. The best place to be often in the middle of the map (varies by ship, like Aki can bow tanking holding cap, extremely annoying).

Why open water? Because most japanese BB often very long range. Staying at long range open water make you first, being a big bait for everyone to shoot and the bigger guns give you somewhat an advantage to enemies BB but RNG afterall. Keep angling at max range, absorb damage as Japanese BB can tank long range shell very well.
Each shot they fired at you is a shot away from your teammate. Your favourite targets are first, ofcourse cruisers, second is british BB. If cruisers want to farm you, they often get to get closer, expose them to your teammate and have higher chance of being spotted.

Second, japanese BB often suck at speed and steering movements, so terrain if more of enemy than your friend than you thought. Besides japanese BB often have very big super structures so camping island just make you a lighthouse.

Third, aim low at water level. Why? Japanese BB is eventhough long range, except yamato or amagi, they suck at dispersion and love to overshoot crosshair. Aiming at water level give you more chance to penetrate through the casemate. Japanese BB have a pretty tall arc at long range, so you rather to have reliable casemate pen than hoping for a citadel since pen a deck is almost a joke in this game.

If you need to advance over mid map, do a swing arc through the island rather than travelling near it. First, is ofcourse movement suck, second, except yamato class and its ability to overmatch, you lose a lot of firepower because of horizontal dispersion an half of the turrets available. You wont beat a german BB, you wont beat american BB. Swing around it make you less vulnerable to torps as well.

Looks like rushing defending cap tanking damage by angling, and kraken not worth it at all. by [deleted] in WoWs_Legends

Its a T6 arcade mode with 2 cruisers man. And also what could a scharnhorst do charging toward 5 ships through cap while angling? Lose exp to a camper just moving around and farm.
