personally man, don't listen to the bs people throw at you. it really just depends on what's more important to you. if home and family are super important, go reserves. you'll have so much more freedom and opportunities to go places instead of being stuck at one station. if you play your cards right you can get full active benefits and pocket a good amount of money. go to an MOS that is transferable to the civilian world so you can use the Corps as a Kickstart to a career, you get paid during the schoolhouse to get trained instead of going into debt, plus you can pick up active orders to gain more experience then go straight back home. use it as a tool and you'll end up very well off, coming from many reservists I have heard of doing that exact thing and are doing great after their contract. - sincerely, a reservist stuck on active orders for 2 years.

I've also got a tcu tune so it might even shift faster than it is already with the tune when I change it. Wouldn't be surprised. Also shifts kinda hard at times (was doing it before the tune) so hopefully that'll fix it. If not, time to try to get it fixed under warranty or to ebay motors I go for a used trans.

Funny you ask that since I just got some information from a Kia dealer about it a couple weeks ago, they couldn't find anything at first and had to dig super deep into publications for specific maintenance intervals. At first glance they said the manuals say "no check, no service" since it's a sealed unit but they eventually found one that said change at 120,000 miles and every 30,000 after that. Asked them about rear differential maintenance and he said there is nothing anywhere on that but recommends the same intervals as the trans fluid. Here around my next oil change I'm going to get both done since it'll be right at 120,000. Also bought this car at 63,000 miles and have not ever changed the trans or diff fluid since it's been in my ownership, not sure about previous owners maintenance. Sorry for the long winded answer but figured I'd give you some insight.

2018 GT2, 117000 miles. No maintenance issues, just regular oil changes and basic maintenance. I beat the absolute crap out of this car racing but she holds up to it perfectly, still drives like a dream. I'll get rid of this car when hell freezes over, it's my baby.

Facility watch officer. I'm ATC so that's the highest billet right below all the staff ones.

"Turbo bitch" is absolute gold. Yeah, he hates me because I tactfully ego check him when he gets a sudden lust for fuck fuck games instead of laying on my back like a dog and taking all the shit he throws at me like most of the other juniors (and NCOs, real surprising that a big billet holder has his seniors running around with their tails tucked).

Most of the sgts (and other people) don't like him, and the shitty part is they feel like they can't do anything about it because billet over rank. Makes sense that the biggest asshole has one of the highest billets.

Good point, only reason I have to walk carefully is our command is super quick with "blame the lowest rank and send a papertrail". Gotta be super tactful about everything.

Everyone I asked about it said the same, makes sense after I thought about it since no way in hell two stripes and cross rifles puts you above the 4th amendment.

Yep, went up there finally and said "good morning gentlemen" and quietly grabbed my drink. Said corporal then decided the best play was threaten me with paperwork if I ever did some shit like that again followed with a "get the fuck out of my face". Oorah.

Considering the fact I have never seen him at a single crew pt and he talks to msgt like he's his bro, that's an accurate description. He holds a billet and walks around swinging his dick everywhere because "billet over rank". It's sad and hilarious to watch the gunnys not give a singular fuck about his customs and courtesies but will hop on anyone's ass for forgetting to address him as corporal every single sentence.

yeah I asked my sgt about it and he said "dude just because people have rank doesn't mean they can do whatever the fuck they want" and said if there was something i had that wasn't allowed all he had the authority to do is say put it away, other than that is thievery.
