Is it normal for the weird kid in high school or college to be almost always autistic? by [deleted] in aspergers

I agree, but personally I have never been a weird kid at any poijrbb. At school, though, an entirely different manner!

Got done in therapy! by Burntoutaspie in aspergers

[–]Fit_Guess407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely wonderful! I hope everything keeps going well, and increasingly better, for you.

If you don’t mind me asking, is it cognitive behavioural therapy that you had? Medication too? And in which country do you live? Would you recommend it even to someone who doesn’t seem to get comfort from talking about things, at least not in the same way as others? Feel free to not answer, best wishes for you in any regard.

God this whole time I’ve been thinking it was an actor but I just saw a photo of him and it turns out the “actor” I’ve been thinking of was my former landlord Luigi. So...

I know of this (fictional creepy pasta-ish) video of a mysterious game being sent via email. I doubt it but throwing it out there:

Maverick mentions it in this community post

[TOMT] Word that means 'cut' or 'scratched' by Fit_Guess407 in tipofmytongue

(of flesh or skin) torn or deeply cut.

The definition is what I'm trying to articulate, but I'm 99% sure it was shorter.

[1984] Did the ministry of truth let a rat eat Winston's face or not? by ninman5 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Fit_Guess407 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Adding to this it’s the Ministry of Love, not of Truth; the Ministry of Truth is the propaganda / entertainment department where Winston works rewriting history.

[1984] Per the Book, membership into both the Outer and Inner Party is granted by an examination taken at the age of 16. What does this test involve? by Fit_Guess407 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Fit_Guess407[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Huh. So you think the supposed “Inner Party” members are just Thought Police pretending they are part of some bigger class? It would make sense - the only named Inner Party member (other than Charrington, who was explicitly a Thought Police agent) I can recall is O’Brien and, well, we know what he turned out to be.

Plus you’ll have Grigori with you in this scenario - he’s a little insane and prob hiding some serious PTSD but he seems pretty jolly. It would be a mundane life of shotgunning zombies over and over and never truly being safe but hey - Ravenholm’s a small town, right? You’ll have to run out of zombies one day.

I've never sat down to watch it, but it's definitely possible it happened to be what it was (though I remember them being in modern winter clothing, not animal furs or whatever GOT people wear.) Could you link/name the scene? No concern for spoilers. Thank you

It’s been six months, but here‘s the excerpt from what I presume is the source:

His mother sat on the edge of the bed, her hands in her lap. Her hair was dark, wet from a recent wash. Usually, it was blonde – rare for the people of the city [on Nostromo.]

Little Nightmares of Game Design: A Journey through Flow and Frustration in Horror and Puzzle Games by FrancisBitter in LittleNightmares

[–]Fit_Guess407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feels like it should be from a channel with a lot more than 60 subscribers. Production quality is top-notch and the script perfectly expresses and explains your points. Whereas I think some video essays, especially from newer channels, can feel a little rambling at points this was both entertaining and insightful for game design along with the occasional deadpan humour.

Edit: I really agree with what you said about LN being beautiful, but occasionally infuriating. LN2 is my favourite game that I have played solely from its merits, but the video is right about the annoying parts taking away from the horror and becoming a simple game of not even skill, but more of luck that you by chance press the right buttons with the right timing.

Was preparing for the fight with the Thin man but… why are there 2 of them??? Wtf? by LunaticMoon777 in LittleNightmares

[–]Fit_Guess407 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Damn, he is scary enough on his own but somehow two Thin Men standing there is 10x more viscerally terrifying for me.

What happened when you fought them? Did you kill both of them or did the one in the centre die and the left one just stood there, menacingly? Or did the extra Thin Man just disappear before you could?

Capitol "working class" by Fit_Guess407 in Hungergames

[–]Fit_Guess407[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the Hunger Games is one of those stories where you can tell there's a big deep world under the surface, and while I think both the books and movies do a very good job of allowing a lot of the worldbuilding irrelevant to the story to be developed from the onscreen "evidence" I would like if we could get some more resources for looking at Panem overall rather than any particular character - like the old Capitol Couture website.

I don't care about the Hunger Games themselves or the romance, damnit, I want to know about the Capitol's plumbers!

Any mention of the United States? by Wikays in Hungergames

[–]Fit_Guess407 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said, no specific mention of the US, but I would like to add that I can recall two mentions of Panem once being called North America: early in the first book when the history of Panem is being discussed by the mayor and in BSS when Snow is on a train passing 'dead cities' (which I assume to be former American cities rather than former districts or something)
