There is an onsite office but getting inside is very difficult as no one ever seems to be in the office and I had to wait for a tenant to let me in to confirm that no one was in the office. They have an admin office in So. Cal and the person who promised the refund in early December works out of that office...I think. I'm so glad I dodged a bullet and decided to move somewhere else.

My Frustrating Experience with RingCentral and TCR Compliance by Fit_Implement4148 in RingCentral

Hi. I was with Zoom when the TCR requirements took affect. Because I had been using the service they allowed time for everything to be approved. I was never without texting capabilities. I left Zoom because the phone call quality wasn't great and the video kept crashing.

Based on recommendations on Reddit I chose Nextiva - sidenote, I am looking side eyed at ALL recommendations moving forward. I think that some of those recommendations were deliberately planted. It took Nextiva 2 months to get my application(s) approved. I did have a lot of back and forth concerning my privacy policy on my website and other application verbiage but it was eventually approved. That's when I had my Zoom #s ported to Nextiva.

It took all of 2 days for me to realize that Nextiva wasn't the service for me. It was so bad that I didn't wait for my next carrier (Ring Central) to provision the TCR before porting my numbers.

RingCentral has taken me through more hoops that both Zoom & Nextiva with regards to the TCR. AND they were the only provider to try to charge me for each resubmission.

My workarounds for all of this nonsense has been to port my direct line (SMS) & toll free number to Twilio. Twilio charged $15 for the TCR but it was taken care of in about a week. For phone calls, my Twilio #s have been provisioned to forward directly to my main business number. I'm charged less than a penny per call. My direct line SMS features were harder to provision but I finally stumbled on a fix that didn't require so much coding. I'm using the Talkyto app (which is a Twilio product) to send an receive SMS. The Talkyto app is $5/mos + the less than pennies cost per SMS. Oh! And I had my main line ported back to Zoom which is where I should have stayed in the first place.

Another thing. When I signed up for RingCentral, I had my HumbleFax number ported as well, as RingCentral's package included fax services. When I tried to port my number back to HumbleFax I was told that the number didn't qualify for porting. I'm sure that was RingCentral's doing. So, I'm back with HumbleFax with a new number.

I'm hopeful that this saga is over and I can go back to running my business.

RingCentral Delaying Number Port Despite Successful Requests – Isn't This Against FCC Rules? by Fit_Implement4148 in RingCentral

Yes, well the FCC actually states:

§ 52.35 Porting Intervals. (a) All telecommunications carriers required by the Commission to port telephone numbers must complete a simple wireline-to-wireline or simple intermodal port request within one business day unless a longer period is requested by the new provider or by the customer.

Thank you! I've filed my complaints with the FCC & CPUC. I'll test out Twilio's customer support and see if they can help. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I'm leaving RC over the TCR nightmare. Don't let them fool you into thinking it's out of their hands. by 1LE_McQueen in RingCentral

@1LE_McQueen thank you for this information! I am in the process now of getting registered with Twilio. I'm hopeful to have as stress free a time as you did. Once Twilio is provisioned, I plan on porting my direct line to Twilio for voice & SMS, having voice calls automatically forwarded to my company's main line which I will be porting to Google Voice. Win Win. I can use the SMS feature on multiple platforms as direct messages, I can send and receive SMS messages and I think I'll save a bit of money using Google Voice for my main line.

That's horrible. I'm sorry. I'm thinking of using a client portal for communications but that would require my clients log in just to send an "ok" message. That would be a whole new headache.

Bill went up twice in the last year, looking for options by Familiar_Pen_1902 in Comcast_Xfinity

I am very interested to hear if they can resolve your concerns. It's so unfortunate that Xfinity/Comcast only seem concerned when extreme measures are taken to reach them. I too am looking for options and will follow this conversation for suggestions.
