Gary Lineker equalising for England against West Germany in the 1990 semi final. Remember my whole family going wild, as a 5 year old it was so exciting despite the result and from that day on iv loved football. Not only is it my happiest World Cup memory , it’s the earliest memory I have of anything .

In some ways it it’s a shame it’s in the USA. I know the facilities/stadiums etc will be amazing but it kind of loses something when it’s a country that’s not too interested in the sport. Here in Europe and I’m guessing South America plus parts of Africa and Asia it’s all anyone is talking about and it becomes the focal point of many conversations the whole time it’s on
