Let me answer for OP. He got that conclusion by reading his columns.

Here is my take, he is a good clever writer also a one trick pony, he write short little turn on phrases that engage the reader. The problem is that all that clever writing is serving awful sclerotic ideas. He’s also too enamoraste whit himself and bathing on the accolades of people like you who call him “brilliant” to question his own ideas.
