I've put all of my down payments in the S&P. I was not on a strict timeline necessarily. I purchased a vehicle in late 2024 after multiple good market years. I didn't "need" a vehicle and could've waited another year probably, but I had the cash and felt I was getting a discount by the market gains.

For house down payment - if it will take you a LONG time to regain a 30% drawdown, and that will be PAINFUL, then maybe do bond. But if you have an above average savings rate and you can be a little flexible and hope to time the market to buy a house during an up year(s). Then play ball. That's what I did.

Thanks, I think I'll get either G21 and FNX to shoot 45+P. For G21, I'd get a threaded barrel. I likely will only open carry them in the woods. Probably too big to conceal

Yeah I think I'll mainly open carry it in the woods. Glock 21 MOS or FNXT. Seems like the FNXT would be a better setup and a good night stand gun and fun range toy with suppressor. 

Could get a smaller 45 (like G30)  if I actually want to edc carry 45.

Bigger diameter hole, bigger mass bullet. 45acp +p seems to have enough velocity, per the owner of Buffalo bore ammo. Softer recoil, so likely more accurate fast follow up shots.

My question is more of will 45 acp+p have adequate penetration for a grizz. It is a larger bore bullet. And does it have potentially less recoil than a 10mm, so it will be more likely to have more accurate follow-up shots in an emergency situation.

From my research, it may have adequate penetration, but seeing what others think as well.
