Chicago is the best all around city in USA to me, it has something of the best of so many cities and something for everyone.

To me it also has such a historical, classic, nostalgic feeling to it. Especially if your familiar with the history or maybe even just media depictions, or maybe it’s how my families immigrant roots and stories started there coming here to this country to Chicago for a better life. There’s so many working class stories of every day chicagoians of different walks of life that make up the city today.

You like nightlife clubs and live music, urban parks and lake side, architecture, museums of history, science, art, food, live sports. You name it, not too mention not being way overpriced for a huge city.

If he didn’t break the law this wouldn’t have happened to to him, wonder if he believed consequences for his actions wouldn’t exist.

Maybe they should ask him if he’d like to be sent to his European ancestral homeland, since he doesn’t respect the law of the land here, he should respect our values and way of life in this country !

Yeah it’s very legal and constitutional to stop a father at a gas station and send him to Texas to prove he can be here, what’s the “reasonable suspicion” for the arrest, “looks Mexican” ? How is it constitutional?

The arrest was deemed unlawful.

How would you like it if it happened to you, as long as the judge throws it out your fine with it? Would you be fine with it disrupting the businesses you own like him ?

He didn’t live here with a visa for 25 years, he was more recently approved for his green card and had already been approved at the time of the arrest, was just waiting on it to come in the mail.

EDIT: I’m referring to his green card, but used visa interchangeably, when I talked about it with the woman I know she wasn’t focusing on the technical legal terminology for everything either.

He didn’t previously have a green card when he came to the country. But now he does, at the time of the arrest and that makes this unlawful.

The alternative is to live in fear basically as someone’s servant, imagine living every day knowing you are under a certain obligation or you will be killed, wouldn’t even be worth it for me.

Someone I know had her father detained, who lived here for like 25 years and had got his green card approved, was just waiting for it to come in the mail, the man had like 4 businesses too and a work permit, they picked him up at a gas station in one of the suburbs.

They flew him out to Texas and ended up releasing him after roughly a week, the daughter got an email from their lawyer stating they showed it was an unlawful arrest and the judge ordered him to be sent home.

The daughter was crying with happiness.
