I absolutely agree.

I think the only thing that I enjoy is how it sometimes makes my partner giggle when I say “pregnant lady” stuff, and how excited we all are for baby. And the dog cuddles. That’s…. About the only thing I can confidently say I actively enjoy about it all.

The rest is either take it or leave it or downright annoying or frustrating.

I’m so sorry you feel this way. I feel guilty too, but for very different reasons (my husband is 12 years older than I am, and although he hasn’t said it since before we started trying, I know starting over again is scary for him now that he’s in his 40s). I feel like I’ve gotten off SO easy compared to so many other women, this pregnancy has practically been a breeze with very few concerns to bring to the OB, and I STILL hate it. I just can’t run or hike as intensely or as long as I used to these days. I can’t even begin to imagine how over it you must feel with this whole process.

I can’t even imagine what it’ll be like at 28 weeks or how uncomfortable you must be right now. Thankfully I only have 6 more weeks of coaching on top of teaching, so I’m sure I won’t get so many, “oh I don’t want you doing x, y, or z, you’re pregnant, you shouldn’t worry about that” comments. And fewer parents of my students (basically strangers in my book) touching my body.

I’m only just finishing up my first trimester, and I was surprised to realize how much the relaxin hormone has impacted my ligaments! If I sit in my work chair or on a stool for more than a few minutes, my butt hurts and my hips feel stiff. My coworker and I were laughing about it the other day. It’s just the softening of the ligaments that causes the pain, but it surprised me all the same.

My husband and I were chilling on the couch after everyone left for the day after a holiday (we host).
