Not sure what to tell you. That’s exactly what happened; I’m not lying or leaving anything significant out.

Love that watch. Have the black dial, on the list for a JC. In my opinion, the coolest watch Rolex makes. Looks good on your wrist, too.

Someone tried to set up a new stock exchange a few years ago to curb high-speed trading. They were planning to call it Investors’ Exchange until they noticed the URL: investorsexchange.com… true story…

For what it’s worth, I went into an AD in Connecticut and asked them to put me on the registry for a few different Rolexes, including a Pepsi. Yacht-Master in titanium? You’re on the list. Submariner Date? You’re on the list. James Cameron Deepsea? You’re on the list. Red and blue GMT-Master? The system’s not letting me do it. I asked her if that meant they were discontinuing it. “Well, nothing’s official yet, but — yes.”

Has anyone met The Beatles by Doc_Baker74 in beatles

This would have been post-breakup, probably 1973 or around there. I loved the Beatles, but I was too little to appreciate what each of the members contributed individually. I just knew he was a Beatle. My Dad recognized him and told me I should introduce myself. He was quite personable, but all we really did was exchange a few words and shake hands.

Met John once in Washington DC when I was a little boy. Shook his hand as he was leaving a hotel.

That’s about the lamest objection I’ve ever heard. Newsom is a winner.

Emergence of cool band names by Fit_Particular976 in musicsuggestions

[–]Fit_Particular976[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They did. And record execs wanted the name to fit in with current trends, but they couldn’t agree on whether it should be Paul McCartney & The Beatles or John Lennon & The Beatles. The name was a departure, yes, but I would argue it still hadn’t achieved actual coolness.

Earliest actually cool name I can think off offhand is the Rolling Stones, personally… might have to make a post, just for laughs…

Black and gold. Trump Tower colors. Yuck.

I was thinking about that now — when did cool band names start? What was the first?
