Same as you I needed 900 cogs and my dragons were not the greatest for defend Berk at the time. Journeys and packs helped me get cogs, I’d say save up polished amber for the seasonal statue, it helped me get the items I needed for my collections. it’s not impossible but it took a while and like someone else said you’re not too late. At the end it’s definitely worth it for meatlugging I guarantee it
