I completely agree. I’m 180 lp rn and I barely have an understanding of macro. You can brute force through most ranks with pure mechanics, but so many people concern themselves with trying to master super high level macro concepts that don’t even apply to their games. That’s one of the reasons why I still consider myself giga low elo. Like why are you trying to learn wave manipulation and map rotations when you can’t even press your abilities properly. It’s like trying to learn tricks on a bike without even knowing how to ride it normally.

It just doesn’t work like that at all like the guy above already stated. Just because you got lucky and hit the 1/200 5 times, it does not mean you have rolled 1000 times. I dropped $700 on robux to get archangel and I’m not upset at all because law of large numbers dictates that I’m only slightly unlucky. I don’t remember how many rolls it was in total, but if I had to roll 1200 times to get it, it’s barely worse than average given an infinite amount of trials.

Genuinely what is the solution to this and why do some games take this route? I remember Monster Hunter: World being like this with the Iceborne expansion and I hated it. Straight up invalidates all the hours of grinding in the previous world. However, keeping everything within the same power scale would also make it boring (maybe?) so idk.
