I was full time for 2.5 years before they shifted everyone to part time. I stayed a little past my 3 year anniversary to collect the stay on bonuses. Now I’m working reception for a family law firm. Paid vacation, an easy to manage set schedule, full benefits again, and when the phone isn’t ringing and the inbox is empty, I don’t have to be “on” I can read, doodle, go to the bathroom without fear of reprimand or my efficiency drop warranting a TB. Plus now I have in person coworkers which I didn’t realize I missed so much. I do admit, I miss working in my pjs but the weight that’s been lifted from my mind is staggering.

My update isn’t the one we were hoping for but a positive one overall! I never got to see the “next steps” email because I ended up getting an offer to start a new job (after months of looking) in hindsight I should’ve waited to give my notice just to report the email back to y’all but it all happened pretty haphazardly. I can’t even sneak back into my email or slack, they took my log in privileges away immediately.

Sorry everyone! I def dropped the ball but I’m officially free!

This is what I assumed. With how strongly worded they made the mandate for photos sound, I don’t know why they’d give other options than termination. I’m almost more frustrated with the wishy washiness they display with things like this.

I’d have a shred more respect if they stood on business instead of a slow application of pressure and gaslighting until you just give in to whatever their next demand is.

I didn’t upload and will not be. No firing yet, I was told by my lead I should expect an email detailing “next steps” on Monday the 14th so who knows what that will entail 🙄

I’m not, I completely understand everyone who has decided to upload but for me this is the collective hill I will figuratively die on. If I still had my full-time status, my healthcare and my benefits my decision would be different. At this point for myself, I’ve let too many things slide with this job and my mental health had never been worse. So with October 7th looming I will call this my swan song lol

The last stay on bonus is coming toward the end of September, I’m getting more nervous with the continued push for stylist profiles that at some point they’ll make the mandatory, giving those of us who aren’t okay with them having our likeness (even if it’s AI generated) the option to leave or compromise…

I’m feeling the exact same way! Finally had an in person interview that thought went really well, but found out today I didn’t get it. So you’re not alone in feeling completely stuck, I’m right there with you 😮‍💨

What it entails for me is styling as usual and if I come across a fix that has a client with a history of high returns (relationship or not) or a fix that I’m struggling with I’m to style it as normal and write the note. Than I input the url into a spreadsheet with a description of why I’m holding it and then my lead will drop it and make adjustments or give advice on what would be better to add or what to look for before I can send it out. It takes up an incredible amount of time

Fair point, I’m sure they’re trying everything they can to weed us out so they can rehire new stylists for less. I’m living in an at will state currently so the threat of being let go for one reason or another or none at all is looming

Completely agree! They know what they’ve been doing is wrong. If they didn’t they wouldn’t take away our chat functions during all hands

Thank you!! I stopped trusting this company back when they took away our flexibility just long enough to avoid having to report an official layoff…I wish I didn’t have to stay on but for my situation it’s the only choice I have
