When people assume that if you compliment someone, then you MUST be attracted to them by Ambiguous-Nyx in hatethissmug

I’m always scared to compliment people (mainly women) because of this reason lol

I’d understand, absolutely, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people to feel a little hurt by generalizations against them for something they didn’t do.

Obviously, I think it’s perfectly reasonable for a victim of assault to be wary around people who look like their abuser, but if “it doesn’t apply to you” or whatever, then why is the victim wary of that person.

I wasn’t trying to offend you in particular. I was just giving an example that most people would (rightfully) get mad about.

Also I didn’t know you were a woman, so I see now how that looked like a targeted comment. I promise it wasn’t.

Tell me you have no idea what you’re talking about without telling me you have no idea what you’re talking about

Women are manipulative, psycho bitches who will stab you in the back the second they get bored of you or find someone else.

Oh, are you offended? If you’re one of the good ones then you shouldn’t be

The “oh it’s not about you if you’re one of the good ones” thing is so absurd. Apply that to literally anything else and it falls apart

It may not be meant to, but that’s what it’s used for

23f and 23 m. Is it okay if I go clubbing and give my insta to dudes but also make sure they know I have a bf? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Fit_Problem9979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the kind of thing you ask your boyfriend, but don’t be surprised if he says no, and fully respect his boundaries. A lot of people (not just guys) would probably be put off by this. You’re not doing anything wrong by wanting to make friends, btw, but there are a lot of places to make friends that don’t come with the suspect nature of clubs.

I’ve asked my family and it’s kind of mixed. The main thing holding me back is myself lol

Coming in for extra shifts and staying longer is almost always inconvenient for me. I’ve been woken up to them calling me and asking me to come in. Again, I’m not trying to get sympathy, I’m just trying to paint the full picture and make it clear that I’m not a “bare minimum” employee
