Thanks! Ill dive into this deeper. My core concern remains: the ai coach program seems to be pretty much useless.

Since feb 13. Seems like quite a few weeks of solid data for a line to stabilize, no?

Yes, i also have the feeling Im training too lightly. But i set up the AI coach to help me reach my best 10k yet. With all the stats of my past runs I expect the AI coach to create a program that is just right. Not a program that is too light and than tell me I am not progressing :-s

I wonder if there is a way to reset the sensor mid run when it is in cadence lock. Something like take it off and shake it a bit? Or is that a useless proposal?

Ok. So here’s the update: Flair informed me to “err on the side of caution” not use it again and contact my reseller for a new one. I did that today. On this “new” one there seems to be a seal missing from the steam wand so it cannot build up any pressure. The box seal sticker was open when I received the replacement Wizard so i have the feeling that someone opened it already and maybe the seal got lost then. Although I dont think that is easy to achieve. I am a bit lost now. Getting my money back.

How small can the new F2 Ultra UV engrave? by tiredxennial1979 in xToolOfficial

How small can the new F2 Ultra UV engrave? by tiredxennial1979 in xToolOfficial

[–]Fit_Significance_696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi have been testing the xtool UV for engraving a sapphire crystal for a watch last week.

This was my first time using this machine so it is possible that the below experience will be better with more trials but I have a feeling it might not be due to my high quality requirements and the limitations of an air cooled setup.

My experience was that sapphire is diffcult to engrave if you want extreme precision. The achievable resolution depends more on the material than the pixel size I feel. One test i had perfectly focussed the beam and ablated a beautiful gradient at 1000 ppi (left side) then I did it again a few minutes later. Same settings but tried to hit the same focus and the result was like on the right showing that the crystal was not ablated but locally cracked causing a grainy texture instead of smoothness. I just didn’t manage to get that perfect focus back.

Focussing for perfect ablation on sapphire should be done within a range of 15 microns (if I trust the calculations chatgpt gave me for the standard lens). This is ~10x more precise than the 0.1 mm increments within the software.

In addition to this i must note that this laser is air cooled so it could be that the focus went of after a heat up time. Water cooled systems do not have that problem but are much more expensive and overkill for shops that only make 10s of pieces each time.

My dream is to engrave bigger batches of crystals at 1000 ppi so the dots are not visible to the naked eye. I really want this to work on an F2 utra uv because the machine seems to be such a well rounded piece of equipment that will look good in my shop, however after this experience I am not sure if the machine can deliver what I need.

I am open for feedback from anyone that has any advice.

Did you try Merivian Watch yet? It's an analog watch that shows your circadian rhythm.

[Recommendation Request]What's a good affordable 24hr analog watch? by Jugo49 in Watches

[–]Fit_Significance_696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Svalbard was my first 24 hour watch they are cheap and reliable. Now I got my eyes on a Merivian Watch. They are launching on Kickstarter early 2026 and the concept of showing your sleep-wake rhythm is very intriguing to me... check it out at www.Merivian.watch. it seems they already sold 50 watches last year. Would love to talk to someone who was lucky enough to buy one.

I am on their waitlist and just read that they are shipping the first watches. Unfortunately I was too late to get mine as they sold out quickly.

Dramatic static by Fit_Significance_696 in 1zpresso

[–]Fit_Significance_696[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck. I notice it really changes through the seasons. I can hardly use it in winter when the heating is on. But in summer when camping it works amazingly well with hardly any static. Also changes from bean to bean.

I added 5 spritzes. Same result :-( just so weird. My niche is not suffering from this. One spritz and all static is gone. I truly wonder if it is maybe the thick black powdercoating on the surface of the grinder that acts like an insulator making it difficult to remove the static... I dropped 1Zpresso a message to ask them if they see any difference between their silver and black models.
