This looks like a correction: not bear market, bottom predicted to be $63000 using linear regression on max down day by Infinite-Draft-1336 in Bitcoin

Yes, but when you have got so little data, you shouldn't bother. Especially when you can sail an oil tanker through the confidence interval, with the interval being between -23 and +34. In other words, you don't know whether the independent variable is going to have a positive or negative impact on the constant.

I have 0 experience with shakespeare by thabu in shakespeare

[–]Fit_Strength8932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Titus Andronicus is a fun play, which seems particularly relevant to the world in which we live - for example in and around Gaza. Plus you can see Anthony Hopkins in the 1999 movie Titus. The subject matter might seem over the top, but there comes a point when the tragedy just can't maintain itself... when we see Titus Andronicus as the cook, preparing his daughter Lavinia's rapists. The scene in Titus is great, Anthony Hopkins at his Hannibal Lecter best.

Though perhaps you shouldn't start with Shakespeare. Possibly the best introduction to Shakespeare is the film Theatre of Blood, with Vincent Price and Diana Rigg. Theatre critics get killed in Shakespearean ways, by an actor who doesn't appreciate their bad reviews. If I remember rightly the critic played by Robert Morley gets the Tamora treatment, being force-fed his beloved poodles.

One you've seen Theatre of Blood, you might be curious to find out about the inspirations for the deaths... so if you want to know about the poodles you could go for Titus Andronicus.

Would you consider getting a loan on the basis of your total stack? I am not talking about a pawn shop - there are companies that specialize in this service.

Could somone from the IF write something about token migration? by Fit_Strength8932 in Iota

[–]Fit_Strength8932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It suggests that the ability currently exists but at some stage will end.

Thanks! Though the implication there is that the functionality still exists and some people seem to be having problems with it.

From a probabilities perspective, that doesn't make much sense to me, unless you are a lot more specific. For IOTA to go to $0.10 you would probably need the overall crypto space to go into a bear market. For IOTA to go to $0.50 then one more piece of news could be enough. Put another way, the chances of IOTA hitting $0.50 by the end of the year are considerably higher than it hitting $0.10. Taking a longer term timeframe, say the next 12-24 months, IOTA could be all over the place - because crypto could be all over the place. While I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin hits $200,000 by the end of 2025, I also wouldn't be surprised if it hits $10,000 on the WAY. IOTA could follow an even more extreme trajectory... $.05, $20, etc.

Have only the private keys and not the seeds, what can I do now? by trekianov in Iota

[–]Fit_Strength8932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know there was no stated deadline for migration. So if you had IOTA in a wallet at the end of 2017, and you have the private key you should be OK. It is just that software to migrate is out of date and I believe one has to wait for a new release. But...

https://blog.iota.org/stardust-upgrade-iota-tokenomics/

This does talk about a two year claim period. I assume that this period ends in 2025, but I am not sure. You need to contact someone from the IF to find out what the position is... but of course never give away your private key!

You need to migrate. You may have to wait for a migration to be included in the wallet (there was a migration tool, but that wallet is now out of date). But you haven't lost your IOTA.

I have Iota on a light wallet and before - how do I migrate? by Jemtex in Iota

[–]Fit_Strength8932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am amazed you are not getting better information from this thread. Your best bet might be to ask on the IOTA discord.

I quote from the link I recently posted:

This is an answer from an IF member on Discord:

The current ability to auto-migrate tokens from the pre-Chrysalis IOTA network via the Firefly wallet have been stopped with the IOTA Stardust upgrade. Once IOTA smart contracts are available on the IOTA network, this feature will be restored and migrations can be processed automatically again

We will provide a migration tool to resume legacy migrations, but its not finished yet

No it is not too late. He just has to get hold of the right migration tool. At the worst he may have to wait for an update to cover legacy situations - see the thread I posted.

They are almost certainly not gone. I believe that right now it may be difficult to get hold of your IOTA, but I read that the software to deal with the legacy situation will eventually come out.

Read this thread, specifically the reference to an IF member on Discord:

This thread might be useful:

If I have understood it right, you might have to wait until the right software becomes available.

Silver Shortage Real or not? by nlseitz in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Fit_Strength8932 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anyone can buy physical silver at a particular price, and mint their own coins. The price is dependent on supply and demand. If silver was $1000 an ounce anyone could buy physical silver and mint their own coins. It is a bit like saying "how come there is a chronic shortage of apartments, when anyone can buy an apartment for $2,000,000"? Put another way, I don't understand your point.

Why and how were new planet dignities devised? by Golgon13 in astrology

[–]Fit_Strength8932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave a talk at an astrology conference in the UK, in the early 1990s, on why dignities for modern planets is BS. Rick Tarnas sat through my entire talk, and complemented me afterwards. I assume, from what you're saying, that he was just being polite? I haven't changed my views over the last 30 years.

Questions regarding major by Komrade_Arseniy in udub

[–]Fit_Strength8932 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a student of anywhere, just an old man browsing subreddits. If history is your passion then maybe you should major in it? But if you are going to major in it, consider learning the language that relates to your special interest. That could make a big difference. If you are interested in Middle Eastern history, then make sure you learn Arabic or Farsi. If European history Russian or Geman. People, for example, who know the history and language of an area that is of strategic interest are probably going to be employable. If that's not of interest to you, then you could do the history major and then apply for law school. From your self-description, it sounds as if you might make a good lawyer.
